As a Lead Systems Engineer focused on leading Devices sustainability efforts, you will take a critical role in influencing system design of VR, AR, and New Technology Initiatives to drive carbon reduction. You will influence teams developing product concepts through prototyping and validation for consumer electronics. KEY RESPONSIBLITIES

The engineer will be a module leader who will provide technical direction for all analyses performed on static structural components and systems for an exciting new gas turbine engine development program. Responsibilities include guiding the analysis, design, development, and test planning for static structural components to meet requirements for life, cost, weight, maintainability, and durability. The module leader will direct trade studies to inform engine architecture decisions.

Openings exist for the following engine modules:

· Compressor: includes structural design of engine cases, flow path components, and a variable vane actuation system

· Combustor & Turbine: includes engine cases, nozzles, seals, heat shields, and transition of advanced technology component concepts to production readiness

· Bypass Ducts, Exhaust, & Externals: includes inner and outer bypass ducts, plumbing, and brackets.

The module leader must be adept at overseeing strength, vibration, fatigue, containment, heat transfer, deflection, and clearance analyses. In addition, the module leader will be responsible for ensuring that analysis results are presented clearly and effectively in design reviews and documented in reports to meet program deliverables and requirements. The lead engineer must have experience performing complex Finite Element Analyses (i.e., contact, preloaded fasteners, modal and forced vibration) to provide the necessary problem-solving guidance to the team. They may also at times be called upon to perform some analyses of key components themselves.

The applicant must be an effective leader able to thrive in an Agile environment and successfully coordinate the work of local and global analysis teams, create statements of work, review analysis output, and communicate effectively with manufacturing personnel, suppliers, customers, and chief engineers.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Join a team that designs, develops, and integrates highly complex systems for APU (Auxiliary Power Unit) gas turbine engines within Honeywell Aerospace. You will be integral in creating system solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers. You will have ownership for systems and components at every aspect of the system life cycle, from the front end of business development through product end of life. You will work across disciplines within the APU Control Systems department, part of the Engines & Power Systems business, to drive growth and achieve critical business milestones.

In this role, as a Systems Engineer II, you will be responsible for all aspects of development of a particular control systems component. This includes design aspects, integration into control system and application, test planning & execution, test setup & unit conformity, test data management and reduction. Depending on the scope of projects, assignments may include more than one component.

Responsibilities also include planning out design and qualification effort, defining and managing deadlines, coordinating with team leads and project engineers on status, and timely escalations when effort is off-track, or scope is added. In this role, the perfect candidate will own the product and qualification through all aspects of the project – and are ultimately responsible for task execution and milestone fidelity.

YOU MUST HAVE

+ Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics.

+ 1+ years of relevant experience

WE VALUE

+ Experience with gas turbine engine control system components such as controller, wire harness, start motor, oil level sensor, speed sensor, temperature sensors, pressure sensors, etc.

+ Aerospace Engineering experience

+ Advanced understanding of the systems development lifecycle

+ Ability to quickly analyze, incorporate, and apply new information and concepts

+ Experience with qualification test setup conformity

**How You'll help us to connect the world?**

The Systems Engineer provides customer and/or partner focused technical sales support and influencing, technical management of the account, and is the trusted advisor. The Systems Engineer works as a team, along with a Territory Account Manager(s) and/or a Partner Account Manager to sell RUCKUS networking solutions through a network of channel partners. The position of Systems Engineer will perform consultative solutions-based discussions to all levels of decision makers and will also provide technical demos, architectural and best practice designs, proof of concept trials, training, and presentations for customers, partners, prospects and at events.

The successful candidate will be a proficient self-starter, with strong technical skills, in-depth industry knowledge, and excellent communication skills with proven experience as a customer or partner facing Systems Engineer. The preferred candidate will also possess working knowledge of the RUCKUS wireless and wired portfolio and related technologies.

**Responsibilities:**

+ Pre-sales engineering network design, radio frequency passive and/or active planning, bill of material creation, sales opportunity engagement, and technical training individually or in larger group settings

+ Identifying and driving the development of a territory account plan based on awareness of the business economics and trends of the industries, including vertical markets

+ Have a working knowledge of RUCKUS Networks wireless, wired and software solutions

+ Act as a trusted technical advisor to customers and partners with the ability to differentiate and competitively position RUCKUS solutions

+ Assist the Territory and/or Partner Account Manager in driving revenue and selling solutions to achieve quota goals

**Qualifications:**

+ Undergraduate or graduate degree (BS/BA minimum) in Electrical engineering; Networking Engineering; Information Technology; Management Information Systems; Computer Science; or equivalent proven work-related experience

+ Minimum 5 years pre-sales or equivalent experience working with route, switch, and Wi-Fi technologies

+ A professional or associate level networking industry certification such as CCNA, BPIPA, JNCIA, Cisco, Aruba, RUCKUS, CWNA, etc. is preferred

+ Strong ability to support and manage the process of troubleshooting complex problems

+ Highly effective technical presentation skills

+ Strong verbal and written communications skills

**You will excite us if you have:**

+ A proficient understanding of pre-sales engineering, technical sales processes, and critical account management

+ Ability to communicate both written and oral technical solutions to a variety of audiences that include executive level decision makers

+ Advanced understanding of partner business drivers and how to map these to a customer network environment, including identification of improvement areas in network design

+ Working knowledge of networking technical skills; specifically, 802.11 Wi-Fi technology evolution releases (Wi-Fi 5, 6, 7), RF antenna signal propagation behavior, best practices design and assessment, predictive heat map creation, wireless troubleshooting, wireless network optimization, IP routing and switching WAN/LAN design, setup and configuration, Layer 4-7 application services, security authentication methods and products, SASE, SD-WAN, RADIUS, AD, Virtualization environments/deployments, VM installations, (any of VMWare, KVM, Hyper-V, GCE, Azure, AWS), secure device/user onboarding solutions, etc. DevOps/REST or other common API programming knowledge a plus

+ General knowledge of the following areas of specialization: Cloud services (SaaS); VLAN; security; VoIP; QoS wired/wireless; BYOD/MDM; P2P; mesh; wireless controller architectures; Wi-Fi protocols and transmission, RF design, indoor and outdoor wireless deployments; packet capture/analysis tools; and WLAN security

+ Working knowledge of wi-fi design tools such as Ekahau, TamoGraph, Air Magnet, etc.

Our salary ranges consider various factors, including but not limited to benchmarking by independent third-party consultants, skills, years of experience, training, education, geography, and other business needs. Depending on experience, the range can be higher for candidates with outstanding experience and a demonstrated history of successful performance. This position's expected total compensation (base salary and commission range) is $138,000.00-$207,000.00
