Responsibilities:

Qualifications:

* 4 year degree in construction or engineering related studies
* 1-5 years’ experience in construction or similar industry
* Strong knowledge of engineering principles, construction methods, and electric utility systems.
* Travel Required: Yes, this is a field position that will require traveling.
* Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point, etc)
* Other software experience is encouraged.

Responsibilities

* Monitors and enforces, along with project team, Bouten’s safety and OSHA safety standards to maintain a safe working environment for all employees, and site visitors.
* Assures compliance by becoming intimately familiar with the assigned project plans and specifications. Reviews shop drawings and submittals.
* Reviews plans from the standpoint of value analysis and constructability, ensuring appropriate materials and utilized. Communicates inconsistencies to the architect.
* Researches construction problems.
* Performs work sampling. Observes and analyzes work methods, techniques, and procedures to advise superintendent on improvement of production efficiency.

Purpose of Role

Summary This position is part of the WAPA-DSW-Desert Southwest. As an Engineering Technician, you will perform a variety of duties related to the functional responsibilities in supporting activities in computer aided engineering/computer aided drafting (CAE/CAD), design automation, and software support. This is not a remote position. The selectee will be required to be physically present at the Phoenix, AZ duty location. Responsibilities As an Engineering Technician you will: Prepare preliminary and final civil/electrical design drawings for substations.
