Through study abroad programs, students are exposed to unique differences in human behavior and the human condition, are able to improve language and cross-cultural skills for effective communication, and are challenged to adapt to new social and cultural circumstances.

The expanded education that students acquire through a Global Education program will be a valuable enhancement to their resume, helping them stand out when applying for graduate school or when pursuing their choice of careers

The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences recommends these programs for students majoring in psychology.

Career opportunities

With a Bachelor of Science in psychology, students gain diverse career options. This program establishes a strong foundation for immediate entry into science-based career fields, such as health care or research and development in an academic or business environment.

It also positions students for a pathway into medical school. Graduates are well-prepared for rewarding careers in pre-med and health fields as well as research and graduate study in psychology, health sciences, law and other graduate-level degree programs.

Example job titles and salaries listed below are not necessarily entry level, and students should take into consideration how years of experience and geographical location may affect pay scales. Some jobs also may require advanced degrees, certifications or state-specific licensure.
