Skilled Trades is a pathway for students interested in a combination of physical work and academic excellence.  Degrees in this area focus on providing opportunities to build practical skills in the construction field, sustainable building, automotive, welding, or environmental technologies involving wind and sun energies.

Skilled Trades Automotive Photo

Automotive

The Automotive Technology Certificate program is designed to help aspiring technicians prepare for a productive career in the automotive industry. Students will learn shop safety awareness and develop the basic technical foundation and skills to repair, service and maintain automobiles for an entry-level automotive service technician and prepare for the ASE – G1 Auto Maintenance and Light Repair certification.

HVAC

The HVACr (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration) Certificate provides students with a technical foundation required of an entry-level technician in the growing HVACr Industry. Students will learn the concepts and principles of refrigeration, electrical and mechanical systems through classroom instruction and state of the art technical training systems.

The Associate of Applied Science in Sustainable Green building is designed to educate students comprehensively on the many subjects related to Green Building Categories and related Environmental and occupant issues, Energy Efficiencies and Sustainable Building design considerations.

Skilled Trades Transfer Degrees Photo

Transfer Degrees

Intended for students who plan to transfer to a baccalaureate program. These degrees provide a foundation of general education, along with courses chosen to help fulfill lower-division baccalaureate requirements. Students should work with a transfer advisor to ensure all course requirements are met before transferring.

AA degrees and certificates emphasize in humanities/social sciences, including a foreign language.
