Display confidence, knowledge, and efficient during the installation and product training with the customer after the completion of the installation and maintain a neat appearance while on the job site. You are not just an “Installer”, you are the final face of Liberty Awnings and Shades.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Receive daily installation appointments from installation scheduler and adhere to that schedule.
    • Update customers throughout the day and reschedule through the installation scheduler if schedule is significantly interrupted
    • Properly and efficiently install products, consistent with LAS policies.
    • Demonstrate each product to customers after installation, to assure customer’s understanding of product and to assure proper adjustment and operation
    • Thoroughly review all orders and associated paperwork to assure that all instructions and/or special needs are clear
    • Assure that truck is properly serviced and ready for use each day, advise Installation Manager of maintenance and service needs for truck
    • Assure that all products and necessary misc. parts and items are loaded onto truck
    • Make minor adjustments to product if/when such adjustments are required
    • Factory manufacturing and fabrication as required.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:
    • Installers will be required to work outside the majority of the time they are on the jobsite. This includes during the hot summer months and during the cold winter months.

    • Installers will not be required to work if weather conditions are deemed unsafe by management
    • Travel is limited to the greater Phoenix Metro area in company vehicles. Personal vehicles are not required for this position.

    Grand Canyon University is currently seeking a fulltime General MaintenanceRoofer. The roofer will perform work inspecting, maintaining, repairing, designing, modifying and/or altering roofing materials. Identifies source of roof leaks and damage and makes temporary and permanent repairs; conducts water tests to verify integrity of completed repairs.

    What you will do:

    + Provide a high level of customer service to students and/or faculty and staff. Install, maintain, repair, and inspect all types of roofing materials and protective coatings, such as but not limited to wood, shingles, slate, aluminum, metal, tile, single ply membranes (PVC, EPDM, modified bitumen, polyethylene), asphalt, energy efficiency coatings, and related materials.

    + Perform a variety of routine skilled general maintenance tasks including, but not limited to carpentry, painting, plumbing, mechanical and electrical trades work. Ensure that facilities are available for use and consistently maintained in a safe and clean condition.

    + Adhere to maintenance schedules and performs ongoing roof inspections on all types of roofs and writes detailed reports regarding future repairs.

    + Identify safety hazards and report to project supervisors.

    + Perform additional assignments at supervisor’s direction.

    Experience & Competencies:

    + Minimum of 2 years experience as a carpenter in a heavy civil construction environment

    + Ability to compare and see differences in the size, shape, and form of lines, figures, and objects

    + Ability to read and understand construction measurements, quantities, scales and dimensions

    + Must have basic competencies in mathematics and be able to perform math operations rapidly and accurately

    + Ability to plan work and select proper tools and materials

    + Ability to figure and shoot elevations with the use of a grade level

    + Ability to lay out and build forms square

    + Ability to work in a diverse employee mix

    + Ability to work within precise limits standards of accuracy

    + Ability to receive and follow instructions

    + Ability to support team members in completing assigned tasks

    + Ability to work well under time constraints and in a team-based environment

    + Ability to operate equipment as well as manual and power tools typically used by carpenters in commercial construction

    + Ability to work Monday through Friday, at least eight hours per day, five days per week between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Ability to work on Saturdays and Sundays as needed to meet project schedules and demands

    Physical Demands of Job:

    + Ability to work outdoors and indoors without temperature control continuously

    + Ability to lift 50 pounds

    + Constant standing, frequent walking, occasional kneeling/squatting/climbing

    + Ability to maintain balance while walking and working on scaffolds and ladders

    + Ability to reach for, grasp, and manipulate construction materials and tools

    + Ability to see well (naturally or with correction)

    Working Conditions:

    100% of the time is spent on the project.
