Concrete Finishers - Smoothes and finishes surfaces of poured concrete floors, walls, sidewalks, highways, or curbs to specified textures using hand tools or power tools, including floats, trowels, and screeds.

Concrete Finisher Roles, Duties, & Responsibilities:

* Signals concrete deliverer to position truck to facilitate pouring concrete.
* Moves discharge chute off truck to direct concrete into forms.
* Spreads concrete into inaccessible sections of forms using rake or shovel.
* Levels concrete to specified depth and workable consistency using hand-held screed and floats to bring water to surface and produce soft topping.
* Smoothes and shapes surfaces of freshly poured concrete using straightedge and float or power screed.
* Finishes concrete surfaces using power trowel or wets and rubs concrete with abrasive stone to impart finish.
* Removes rough or defective spots from concrete surfaces using power grinder or chisel and hammer and patches holes with fresh concrete or epoxy compound.
* Molds expansion joints and edges using edging tools, jointers, and straightedge.
* May sprinkle colored stone chips, powdered steel, or coloring powder on concrete to produce prescribed finish.
* May produce rough concrete surface using broom.
* May mix cement using hoe or concrete mixing machine.
* May direct sub-grade work, mixing of concrete, and setting of forms.
* May break up and repair old concrete surfaces using pneumatic tools.

_Preferred Qualifications:_

+ Experienced in construction layout, blueprint reading and shop drawing reading.

**Essential Duties:**

+ Positioning themselves on the concrete forms and moving the pump hose or concrete bucket into place for the pouring of the concrete.

+ Levelling the top surface of freshly poured concrete on floors, walls, ceilings or sidewalks. Responsible for finishing the concrete surface to meet the tolerances for thickness and flatness before the concrete has cured. Initially, the concrete finisher must strike the concrete with a screed to create a level, smooth surface.

+ Applying a bull float to the concrete to further smooth the surface and bring the moisture to the top of the concrete area. The float is operated by a concrete finisher applying pressure to the float as it is moved back and forth over the concrete.

+ Applying hardening and sealing compounds to cure the surface of concrete. This includes waterproofing, damp-proofing, and restoring concrete surfaces.

+ Installing anchor bolts, steel plates and other fixtures in freshly poured concrete.

+ Operating a trowel to finish the surface when the concrete has reached a semi-cured status. Moving the machine over the concrete surface to level the concrete and develop the desired finish. Following up with the finish trowel using the steel trowel. Often, after the mechanical trowel has been used, the final troweling is performed by the concrete finisher using a 14-inch steel trowel.

+ Promoting a safe work environment and communicating jobsite hazards. Responsible for ensuring that all materials are properly distributed, and the site is swept and well maintained.

+ Helping to secure the jobsite at the end of business each day and verifying that all site materials are properly stored.

The Remodeler & Drywall Finisher (Technician) will provide skilled repair work while learning the techniques required to perform professional mitigation & disaster response services for 1-800 Water Damage of Greater Tucson. These responses will include the removal of drywall, insulation, baseboard, subflooring, and flooring. The Repair Technician will work alongside field technicians as needed. Customer service experience is a requirement.

Working knowledge of drywall and stucco repair and the application of materials to complete assigned tasks, such as tape, texture, float to match existing finish. Experience with restoring surfaces.

Responsibilities

+ Perform skilled repair labor as assigned before, during, and after water mitigation and mold remediation has been performed.

+ Repair and replace drywall - match texture and sand/paint to match existing walls.

+ Install insulation to match the current.

+ Interior Painting.

+ Home remodeling and cabinet installation, repair

+ Install baseboard and paint and seal to match.

+ Repair subflooring and install the flooring to match: tile, carpet, and various types of wood flooring.

+ Install cabinets and/or toe kicks removed during water mitigation to match existing.

+ Manage multiple projects while assessing repairs needed to homes and accurately sourcing and purchasing materials for these projects.

+ Work independently or with an assistant and properly manage repair times and costs.

+ You provide satisfactory results on Pulmonary Function evaluation in order to obtain respirator certification

+ You have formal vocational training or equivalent

+ You possess customer service / aviation work experience

Concrete Finishers - Smoothes and finishes surfaces of poured concrete floors, walls, sidewalks, highways, or curbs to specified textures using hand tools or power tools, including floats, trowels, and screeds.

Concrete Finisher Roles, Duties, & Responsibilities:

+ Signals concrete deliverer to position truck to facilitate pouring concrete.

+ Moves discharge chute off truck to direct concrete into forms.

+ Spreads concrete into inaccessible sections of forms using rake or shovel.

+ Levels concrete to specified depth and workable consistency using hand-held screed and floats to bring water to surface and produce soft topping.

+ Smoothes and shapes surfaces of freshly poured concrete using straightedge and float or power screed.

+ Finishes concrete surfaces using power trowel or wets and rubs concrete with abrasive stone to impart finish.

+ Removes rough or defective spots from concrete surfaces using power grinder or chisel and hammer and patches holes with fresh concrete or epoxy compound.

+ Molds expansion joints and edges using edging tools, jointers, and straightedge.

+ May sprinkle colored stone chips, powdered steel, or coloring powder on concrete to produce prescribed finish.

+ May produce rough concrete surface using broom.

+ May mix cement using hoe or concrete mixing machine.

+ May direct sub-grade work, mixing of concrete, and setting of forms.

+ May break up and repair old concrete surfaces using pneumatic tools.

+ Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.

+ Adheres to all Hunter Contracting Co. safety policies, procedures, and instructions from Management.

Work Qualifications:

+ Practices good safety habits.

+ Ability to read tape measures.

+ Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in the construction or repair of structures, highways, or roads.

+ Judges distances and slopes accurately.

+ Knowledge of construction specifications.

+ Knowledge of machines and tools.
