    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Operate a forklift safely and efficiently.

    Operates wrapping equipment when necessary.

    Keeps stock and materials in orderly fashion.

    Documents materials unloaded and taken off trucks.

    Responsible for pulling job for production, inbound forms, inventory tags and counts on materials received or shipped.

    Assists other shipping and receiving material handlers to balance the workload, organize warehouses, and perform general cleaning.

    Job Summary

    The Machine Operator is responsible for setting up and operating production equipment under immediate supervision in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. This role ensures KPS Global meets quality, safety, and efficiency standards and satisfies customer requirements.

    Major Responsibilities

    + Performing duties in accordance with current Quality Management System, Safety Management System, and KPS Global Code of Conduct requirements

    + Operating manual production machinery and equipment

    + Reading and interpreting job orders, diagrams, and/or blue prints to select, position, and secure machinery and materials

    + Loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials and product utilizing lifting equipment when available

    + Completing and maintaining all associated electronic processes and paperwork including bar-coding, checklists, stamping, blue prints, shipping/receiving documents, accessory lists, and scanning of materials

    + Performing pre-shift preventative maintenance

    + Maintaining departmental housekeeping and 5S standards

    Required Skills

    Physical Requirements

    This position will require a self-directed, team oriented individual who takes pride and ownership in his/her work, and is willing to accept total responsibility for the performance of the packaging operation on his/her shift.     + Monitor product flow from strippers and silos to packaging machines.

    + Clear product jams at stripper and in turners, chimneys and scales.

    + Add cartons and change packaging films.

    + Add containers to case packers.

    + Make operational adjustments to maintain proper machine rates and packaging quality.

    + Perform machine and product changeovers accurately in standard allocated time for individual lines.

    + Add glue and tape.

    + Monitor, operate and changeover code daters, printers and labelers.

    + Monitor and adjust scales to ensure proper weights.

    + Complete required production paperwork to accurately calculate run time, efficiencies and cases produced.

    + Always maintain a sanitary work environment.

    + Ensure that work areas are clean, and that Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) are fully complied with. Accept responsibility for AIB scores in the packaging area.
