Aviation Inspectors

The CBP Aircraft Mechanic performs maintenance, overhaul, repair, inspection, and aircraft servicing functions on assigned aircraft within an aircraft maintenance and operations environment and in accordance with applicable instructions.

Principal Accountabilities:

+ Perform maintenance, preventive maintenance, inspection, repair, and modification of aircraft in accordance with 14 CFR and Department of Defense (DoD) regulations, technical manuals, and other data as applicable.

+ Perform daily and turnaround inspections on all assigned aircraft.

+ Perform inspections, corrosion control, troubleshooting and fault isolation on aircraft systems.

+ May be required to fly on Government aircraft for relocation, to conduct in-flight checks (test flights) and to conduct trouble shooting that cannot be completed on the ground.

+ May be required to perform official travel to temporary duty sites within and outside the United States.

+ Furnish own hand tools to perform maintenance of aircraft (necessary special tools and test equipment will be furnished by the customer).

+ May be required to perform other duties as required to support the overall mission.

Minimum Requirements:

+ Must possess and maintain a valid State driver’s license.

+ Must be willing to subject themselves to random drug tests.

+ Must be able to obtain and maintain a CBP Background Investigation Suitability clearance. Note: US Citizenship required to obtain clearance.

+ High school graduate or have an equivalency certificate from an accredited program, is required.

+ Must possess a valid FAA Mechanic certificate with Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) ratings.

+ Must be competent and knowledgeable in the repair and maintenance of both fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft and aircraft systems to include airframes, structural, hydraulics, fuel and electrical systems, and aircraft engines.

+ Must be competent and knowledgeable in system troubleshooting, reading and interpretation of schematics, blueprints, technical manuals and FAA, Company, and other Directives.

+ Must be reliable and demonstrate good judgment.

+ Able to follow base, federal and Company procedures for handling and disposal of hazardous waste materials.

+ Ability to meet required deadlines and maintain necessary workflow.

+ Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in the English language and follow both verbal and written instruction.

+ The ability to comprehend/interpret technical data.

Physical Requirements/Working Environment:

+ Be physically able to perform aircraft mechanic duties.

+ Ability to move freely about the interior and meet aircraft specific specs for weight limit.

**Description:** Performs Maintenance, Repair, Launch, and Recovery activities on Partner and Foreign Military Sales F\-35 aircraft\. Ensures aircraft are in good mechanical condition and safe for flight\. We are currently seeking a dedicated Aircraft Mechanic to join our dynamic team, focusing on the F\-35 aircraft\. This position will serve as a subject\-matter expert on all facets of maintenance operations on the F\-35 airframe as part of a Quick\-Response Team designed to support pop\-up tasking/operations anywhere in the world\. **Description:** **What You Will Be Doing**

This Position is in Iwakuni, Japan and will support the Lockheed Martin Sustainment Services, and the F\-35 Field Modification Team at various locations\. First assignment will be at Iwakuni, Japan with an estimated return to stateside late 2025\. Traveling may be required ~30\-50% depending on business requirements\. Job requirements and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

\- Performs required Airframe and Powerplant General/Technical Aircraft Maintenance \(TAMS\) \(Crew Chief\) tasks in support of maintenance technicians in support of tasks identified by the USAF and in technical data issued for the F\-35 aircraft\.

\- Conditioning aircraft for modifications, removal, and installation of attaching hardware, component removal and installations, assistance with software uploads, and various system operational checkouts\.

The USMC MQ-9 CLS Mechanic is a highly qualified and skilled aircraft/composite mechanic with experience in structures, hydraulics, engines and avionics using diagrams, blueprints, and publications. The mechanic will directly support the USMC MQ-9 Site Manager while at the same time being available to support hands-on maintenance and leadership/training on an as needed basis.
