**Description**

Under supervision, performs routine analytical tasks in an oil analysis lab.

+ Performs routine oil analysis testing, including operation of lab equipment and utilization of current LIMS.

+ Prepares samples for analysis using appropriate techniques and performs sample preparation for quality control program.

+ Maintains laboratory instrumentation and equipment.

+ Perform various administrative duties, including but not limited to, ordering supplies (stock issues, direct charge, etc.), departmental communications, site interactions (verbal and written), etc.

+ Assists in laboratory personnel training.

+ Performs other duties as required.

**Qualifications**

Minimum Requirements:

+ One year of direct lab experience or Associates related degree which includes six months related lab experience.

+ Demonstrated experience in MS Office or similar software.

Preferred Qualifications:

+ High school diploma or GED.

+ 1 year of mechanical/maintenance experience.

+ Previous experience working with chemicals.

+ Previous experience working with oil analysis.

+ Previous experience working with lab equipment (ICP, viscometers, particle analysis, etc.).

Criteria/Conditions:

+ Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor,manufacturing or plant environment, including hart hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.

+ Freeport-McMoRan promotes a drug/alcohol-free work environment through the use of mandatory pre-employment drug testing and on-going random drug testing as allowed by applicable state laws
