Our work depends on a Web Developer joining our team to support the USPS Office of the Inspector General (OIG) contract leading surge projects and optional task order support.
At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Senior Project Manager supporting the Department of State IRM program, you will be trusted to lead a wide variety of special projects, surge and optional task order. In this role, a typical day will include:
+ Using technical skills and communications expertise, creating mockup designs for the OIG’s external website.
+ Employing best UX practices, taking the selected design and creating engaging and responsive pages.
+ Quickly yet thoroughly, creating process flows, wireframes, and visual design elements as needed for the web developers to build the site.
+ Serve as the liaison to the web developers to ensure the site is built as designed
+ Develop a style guide for Communications and CIO to follow to build and maintain the new site.
**WHAT YOU'll NEED FOR THIS POSITION:**
+ Relevant college degree in field
+ Proficient in graphic design software, including Adobe Creative Cloud.
+ Excellent visual design skills.
+ Good understanding of content management systems.
+ Proficient understanding of search engine optimization
+ Proficient understand of cross-browser compatibility issues
+ Current experience with web protocols, standards, and technology
+ Ability to breakdown complex requirements and concepts into well‐thought visual designs and workflows
+ Ability to work collaboratively with developers, project managers, and cross‐functional teams to ensure that designs are successfully created and implemented to achieve the user goals
+ Experience creating UI specs & wireframes. Flexibility and willingness to move from idea, to whiteboard, to execution quickly.
+ Participates in testing, validating own and others’ functionality
+ Excellent communication and team‐oriented skills
+ Visually creative with strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
+ Conceptual understanding of User Interface Design and the Design Process.
+ Intermediate to advanced user of Adobe Creative Suite (or other designer tools)
+ Intermediate level of HTML, CSS and Bootstrap
+ Understanding of Less and Sass
+ Understanding of responsive design and touch interface interaction techniques and be in sync with recent design standards and trends
+ Understanding of the limitations of web and mobile, with approaches/ideas to flex those boundaries.
+ A solid portfolio of work demonstrating experience creating great user‐centered design solutions across multiple interfaces and screen sizes.
+ At least 5 years of experience as a web designer, interaction designer, information architect, or similar role
+ Relevant college degree in field
