BASIC FUNCTION: The Maintenance Electrician installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus and electrical / electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints and other specifications, using hand tools, power tools and electrical / electronic test equipment.
No plant shutdowns are required, but will have closures on the holidays
Install machinery and equipment. Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment, connects cables and wires between machines and electrical equipment following manuals, schematic diagrams and blue prints using hand tools and test equipment.
Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors and lighting fixtures using test equipment. Replaces damaged or broken components using hand or power tools.
Test malfunctioning machinery using test equipment and collaborate with other technicians and engineers to determine best repair method.
Replaces faulty electrical/electronic components of machinery such as relays, switches, motors, sensors and boards using test equipment and hand tools.
May diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
Maintain and promote safe working environment and maintain appropriate housekeeping standards within department.
Maintain positive customer, vendor, and coworker relationships.
Cross training throughout the Maintenance department with other techs.
Other tasks may be assigned.

**Additional Skills & Qualifications:**
Three to five years of machine troubleshooting/maintenance required; work experience in metal fabrication. Strong leadership and communication abilities.
Ability to read manuals, schematics, and blue prints. Ability to identify different parts, products, etc. Ability to operate equipment such forklift, electric pallet jack, crane, etc. Solid computer skills including Internet Explorer and Microsoft Office.
The employee may regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
