Seasonal Wildland Firefighter – This announcement is to notify interested candidates of vacancies in the Vernon Fire District Wildland Division. This Division will be hiring Seasonal crew members to fill open positions on Vernon’s Fire Apparatus, our apparatus deploys as a National Resource.
Starting wages for Wildland Firefighter is $15.00 HR Depending on Experience, with Overtime when on assignment.
* This is an on-call position not a staffed position.
Minimum requirements for this position are:
• Be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid AZ Driver’s License and Social Security Card.
• Be able to pass a drug test, and a background check.
• Must be able to pass a pack test (Arduous) for red card certification.
• All respective candidates will receive all necessary basic wildland certifications.
Your commitment to this program requires the following:
• Ability to commit to a wildland assignment with the possibility of being away for an extend period of time.
• 4-hour maximum ETA to Vernon Fire Station #25.
• Have all necessary personal items for a “Red bag”, etc.
• You must be able to follow directions and be physically fit to perform the required duties as assigned.
