**Job Description Summary**

The Product Owner is a member of an Agile Team who represents the voice of the customer and is responsible for working with the Product Manager and other stakeholders—including other product owners and the team—to define and prioritize the product backlog so that the solution effectively addresses business needs while maintaining technical integrity. The Product Owner is an important role at Wolters Kluwer and will have accountability and decision-making responsibility as products are developed. He or she will understand the customers and potential customers as well as the broader industry.

**Job Description**

The Sr. Technology Product Manager with Tax & Accounting XCM is a member of a highly innovative Agile Team that represents the voice of the customer and is responsible for working with the Product Manager and other stakeholders—including other product owners and the team—to define and prioritize the product backlog so that the solution effectively addresses business needs while maintaining technical integrity. The Sr. Technology Product Manager is an important role at Wolters Kluwer and will have accountability and decision-making responsibility as products are developed. He or she will understand the customers and potential customers as well as the broader industry.

**_The person in this role may be in one of our office locations or may be remote based._**

**_Essential Duties and Responsibilities:_**

+ Gather requirements and write concrete features to be implemented by the development team and prioritize them

+ Write new user stories and manage product backlog

+ Develop feature-based user stories

+ Specify acceptance criteria for each user story

+ Work with the Senior Product Manager/Owner to define the scope of work to be done by developers and designers on a weekly basis

+ Test new products and enhancements before they are available for users as UAT

+ Measure and evaluate how the product is used and if it solves the right problem

+ Conduct market research supported by ongoing conversations with development professionals to better understand the problems and needs of the corporate and accounting community

+ Communicate the product vision to the technical team as well as to other teams within the company

**_Education:_**

+ Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Systems, or similar program

**_Qualifications:_**

+ Minimum 1 to 3 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Product Owner, or related IT Analyst role

+ SAFe –PMPO (Product Manager/Product owner) or CSPO (Certified Scrum Product owner) or PSPO (Professional Scrum Product Owner) certification a plus

+ Visio expertise required to create systems or other simple logical drawings and mapped workflows

+ Familiar with software development and databases

+ Strong ability to gather and interpret relevant data

+ Excellent critical thinking and product owner skills

+ Ability to logically analyze problems, deconstruct it and solve

+ Excellent writing and verbal communication skills; Strong attention to detail and organization skills

+ Proven ability to negotiate priorities with business stakeholders
