The Zoom web client provides a rich, engaging, real time communication experience in all modern web browsers and across platforms, serving hundreds of millions of users from around the world.

As an integral member of the team, your primary responsibility will be to design, develop, and maintain the Zoom web client and progressive web application. In addition, you will:

+ Collaborate closely with cross-functional team members to understand, refine, and implement product requirements with quality, accuracy, and speed;

+ Diligently produce and champion robust, high-quality, sustainable code;

+ Rapidly prototype and validate (or invalidate) solutions for complex, real time video and audio communications in the browser;

+ Engage with and support a healthy team environment through effective communication, respect, empathy, and a strong sense of personal responsibility;

+ Stay up to date with and encourage the appropriate use of the latest technologies and industry best practices;

+ Enthusiastically advocate for the best customer experience, helping us to fulfill our mission to Deliver Happiness .

Competencies & Skills

To support our browser-based, real time experiences, the following competencies and skills are required or highly preferred:

+ Team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills

+ 3 - 5 years of demonstrable experience delivering highly available web applications at scale

+ Foundational computer science knowledge including data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems design

+ Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), C++, DOM manipulation, the JavaScript object model

+ Thorough understanding of fundamental web technologies including HTTP, HTML5, CSS, and RESTful web services

+ Experience with ReactJS (react, redux, react-router) and Typescript

+ Experience with common front-end development tools such as Babel, NPM, etc.

+ Knowledge of web application security, defensive/offensive programming concepts, and related best practices

+ PWA architecture and development

+ Multi-threaded development (Web Workers, Service Workers, Worklets)

+ Web Audio, Canvas, WebGL APIs

+ WebAssembly (Wasm)

+ WebTransport, WebRTC, and WebSocket APIs
