**Required Qualifications:**

+ 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

+ 7+ years of experience in SRE/DevOps, with a strong background in Observability

+ 3+ years experience in technologies such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Spunk, Dynatrace, and Kafka

+ 2+ years experience with containerization and orchestration tools, notably RedHat Openshift, Kubernetes, Docker

+ 2+ years proficiency in Java/J2EE environments, application servers (Websphere, JBOSS, Apache Tomcat) and database technologies (MySQL, Redis)

+ Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and automation tools (Jenkins, Postman)

**Role Summary:**

In this role you will apply your technical expertise to all aspects of the software development lifecycle, as well as partner continuously with your many technical and business stakeholders daily. Whether balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders or supporting more senior staff on complex projects, you use data and analysis and apply your software experience, judgment, and risk mindset across your responsibilities.

**Responsibilities:**

+ Provides L1, L2, L3 support for all Capital Markets systems and Business users (Front Office, Operations, Middle Office, Regulatory Reporting, etc.).

+ Troubleshoots issues and problems, comes up with clear action plan(s) to resolve such issues, develops, tests, and implements the agreed solution into production, following the Bank’s enterprise policies and procedures.

+ Acts as IT lead for projects requiring not only development, but also coordination with other teams, business analysis and testing.

+ Partnering with subject matter experts (SME) to translate project objectives and requirements into a detailed technical requirement document with timelines, task lists and next steps.

+ Works closely with Business users to document, define and track project technical requirements, milestones, and deliverables for one or many projects.

+ Organizes the work assignments of key technical projects and communicates to all project participants concisely, leveraging JIRA.

+ Interacting closely with project managers, internal constituents, and external vendors to deliver the work assigned to the development team.

+ Liaising with the various vendors to learn their systems and look for improvements.

+ Working on any Capital Markets initiative requiring the assistance of the developer.

**Qualifications:**

+ Minimum 5 years of software development experience following enterprise standards.

+ 5+ years of programming experience in a modern language such as Java, Python or C#.

+ 5+ years of experience with web technologies such as Restful Services, JavaScript.

+ Working knowledge of vendor applications such as MSCI Risk Metrics Analytics, mOLAP solutions (Oracle Hyperion Essbase, AcvtiveViam Atoti or other), cros-asset front-to-back Trading platforms (Calypso, Murex, ION, Sophis, etc.).

+ 5+ years of experience with application design, development, deployment and after care support.

The typical base pay range for this role is between $120K - $150K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. **The Opportunity**

We are seeking a dedicated Intermediate Level Software Engineer-Java/ Cloud API who will be working with the Content Management Systems Transformation team in USAA’s Chief Tech and Experience Office . This program is building a transformative digital content ecosystem that enables efficient, compliant, personalized experiences and the delivery of effective, cross-channel messaging to members and employees. This role will participate in building and transforming the largest member facing platform getting implemented in the Public Cloud Infrastructure. This individual will work alongside energetic engineers to build this modernized, highly resilient, compliant Digital Content Management Platform. Calling for individuals having the right attitude, aptitude, ownership mindset to learn and grow.

We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week **.** This position will be based out of San Antonio; TX, Plano; TX or Phoenix; AZ. Relocation assistance **is not** available for this position.

Within defined guidelines and framework, provides support to the Enterprise through delivering best in class technology solutions. Engaged in all phases of the software systems and application development lifecycle which include gathering and analyzing requirements, designing, testing, documenting, and implementing software, responding to outages.

**What you'll do:**

+ Design, develop, code, and test technical solutions

+ Write code to deliver features, and improvements, on a regular basis

+ Investigates and resolve technical problems and production issues through troubleshooting techniques

+ Continually improves operations by conducting systems analysis and recommending changes in policies and procedures.

+ Prepares and installs solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming.

+ Follows the software development lifecycle.

+ Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

**What you have:**

+ Bachelor’s Degree or 4 additional years of experience beyond the minimum requirement can be used in lieu of a degree ORApproved certification from CodeUp, Galvanize, VetFIT (Veterans for IT) or eFIT (Employees for IT).

+ 2 years of software development experience specific to a discipline/technology.

+ 1 year of experience delivering technology solutions in all phases of the software systems and application development lifecycle.

+ Basic Understanding of one or more of the following: Java, Swift, Objective-C, Cobol, JavaScript, Kotlin, C++, HTML, CSS, SQL

+ Knowledge and understanding of troubleshooting applications and systems within production issues.

+ Ability to quickly understand applicable business acumen to provide appropriate Engineering solutions

+ Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions.

+ Basic understanding of cloud technologies and tools.

**What sets you apart:**

+ 2 years Java Development experience with Microservices/REST API

+ Ability to develop and maintain high-performance APIs using AWS services like Lambda and API gateway.

+ Experience monitoring API performance, optimizing code, and scaling the API infrastructure

+ Experience developing and executing test cases to validate the functionality, reliability, and scalability of APIs

+ Strong Trouble shooting skills using Kibana, Datadog or similar tools.

+ Experience developing in Adobe Experience Manager or a Content Management Systems.

**PAY RANGE**

The Target Pay Range for this position is $178,900-$218,400 annually. The full Pay Range is $138,800-$258,500 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.
