KEY RESPONSIBLITIES
The engineer will be a module leader who will provide technical direction for all analyses performed on static structural components and systems for an exciting new gas turbine engine development program. Responsibilities include guiding the analysis, design, development, and test planning for static structural components to meet requirements for life, cost, weight, maintainability, and durability. The module leader will direct trade studies to inform engine architecture decisions.
Openings exist for the following engine modules:
· Compressor: includes structural design of engine cases, flow path components, and a variable vane actuation system
· Combustor & Turbine: includes engine cases, nozzles, seals, heat shields, and transition of advanced technology component concepts to production readiness
· Bypass Ducts, Exhaust, & Externals: includes inner and outer bypass ducts, plumbing, and brackets.
The module leader must be adept at overseeing strength, vibration, fatigue, containment, heat transfer, deflection, and clearance analyses. In addition, the module leader will be responsible for ensuring that analysis results are presented clearly and effectively in design reviews and documented in reports to meet program deliverables and requirements. The lead engineer must have experience performing complex Finite Element Analyses (i.e., contact, preloaded fasteners, modal and forced vibration) to provide the necessary problem-solving guidance to the team. They may also at times be called upon to perform some analyses of key components themselves.
The applicant must be an effective leader able to thrive in an Agile environment and successfully coordinate the work of local and global analysis teams, create statements of work, review analysis output, and communicate effectively with manufacturing personnel, suppliers, customers, and chief engineers.
Driving process transformation to reduce design cost and cycle time is an important aspect of the position.

As an Avionics Systems Engineer II here at Honeywell, you will be responsible for the analysis, design, integration, validation, and verification of avionics systems. Your role will involve requirement analysis and decomposition, systems design, model-based systems development, systems integration, systems validation and verification, flight test, issue investigation, and customer interaction. You will play a critical role in ensuring the functionality and performance of our avionics systems, contributing to the success of our engineering programs.
You will work out of our Phoenix, AZ (Deer Valley) location on a Hybrid work schedule.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to apply your technical expertise and problem-solving skills to develop innovative solutions for flight controls and avionics systems. Your work will contribute to the advancement of aerospace engineering and the improvement of aviation technology.

YOU MUST HAVE
• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline in engineering, science, or technology
• 2 years of experience working on Flight Controls, or other Avionics or engineering programs, or equivalent experience OR a Masters Degree in Aerospace Engineering

ABOUT THE ROLE
As an Advanced Systems Engineer within the Honeywell Flight Systems COE—NG/BGH Flight Management Systems Team, you will be crucial in designing, developing, and integrating highly complex systems. Your expertise will be instrumental in creating system solutions that meet our customers' evolving needs. You will be involved in every aspect of the system’s lifecycle from the front end of business development through the product end of life.
RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Develop new feature requirements through analysis and decomposition
+ Engage in systems design, verification, and validation
+ Investigate and troubleshoot systems issues
+ Support internal and external customer interactions

MUST HAVE
