**Your Impact**

+ Independently prepare electrical design drawings and specifications in consideration with safety, construction, and operations.

+ Perform engineering and design calculations for cables, sizing major electrical equipment, lighting, grounding, etc.

+ Prepare design drawings and documents for MV and LV electrical systems, grounding, lighting and lightning protection

+ Design overall power systems and develop Electrical onelines, plan drawings, installation details, wiring diagrams and fabrication drawings.

+ Travel to various client sites, attend project meetings and conduct field review. Approximately 25% travel.

+ Liaise with internal clients regularly to ensure project objectives are being managed and achieved in alignment with expectations.

+ Support project manager with regular reporting, scheduling, staffing planning and coordination

+ Ability to use ETAP, SKM, or other power system study software

+ Experience with AutoCAD 2D/3D, Revit and lighting software such as dialux, etc.

+ Participate in regular project meetings to ensure quality client delivery.

+ Work collaboratively with the Electrical and Instrumentation Design Team

**Who You Are**

**Required Qualifications**

+ Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from ABET accredited program.

+ Minimum of 5 - 7 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering consulting

+ PE license required

+ Experience in creating engineering and design packages for electrical disciplines

+ Uses technical knowledge to perform engineering assignments (including more complex tasks) with some guidance and direction from more senior technical professionals. Independently evaluates, selects, and adapts standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform tasks

+ Previous electrical engineering and/or design experience in substation, Oil and Gas, mining, industrial, water treatment, landfill or energy projects would be considered an asset.

+ Proficiency in the Microsoft suite of software such as Word and Excel.

+ Proficient with AutoCAD 2D/3D, and SKM/ ETAP.

+ Accountable for results. Adaptable and flexible to the changing needs of projects.

+ Possesses integrity, strong work ethic, positive attitude, and is dependable

Your Impact

+ Develop relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

Who You Are

**Required Qualifications**

+ Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering

+ 10+ years of relevant post education experience as an electrical engineer.

+ Professional Engineering license required.

+ Extensive knowledge of electrical design, particularly in the science and technology industry.

+ Known in the local community with an extensive network.

+ Proficient with electrical engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, and the application to permitting and project work-related issues.

+ Experience with electrical planning, design, and construction management; including active involvement in a variety of renovation, new design, and construction projects.

+ Well-defined specific knowledge of relevant engineering and electrical construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.

+ Well-developed ability to make technical computations and calculations involving the application of electrical engineering principles, understanding plans and specifications, and making factual comparisons to the appropriate regulations.

+ Demonstrated effectiveness at coordinating and assertively directing others to consistently complete tasks safely and efficiently.

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Project Engineer plays a crucial role in bridging technical mining expertise with mining operations by providing insights through engineering guidance, driving operational efficiency, financial accountability, and long-term project success. This position is responsible for analyzing operational data, preparing engineering designs/operational GPS support, conducting field data collection, and production forecasting.

By integrating engineering principles, the role provides support for optimizing mining operations, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and evaluating potential efficiency improvements. Position Responsibilities:

Operational & Technical Analysis

• Review operational reports (cost, safety, production) and analyze data for key trends.

• Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

• Conduct risk assessments for operational, technical, and financial aspects of mining projects.

• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to optimize mine planning, design, and extraction techniques.

**Summary**

**What It Takes To Succeed**

Responsible for project budgets and schedules. Occasional contacts with customers and outside agencies. Contacts with suppliers of equipment and services. Ability to use engineering tools required for the job (i.e., computer, test equipment, etc.).

**Experience**

Five (5) years full time experience actively engaged in engineering practice. Must have demonstrated the successful accomplishment of work of the nature defined for the job of Senior Engineer.

Promotion to Level 2 requires a minimum of two years of experience at Level 1; demonstrated capability to perform advanced and more difficult work as determined by the supervisor. Promotion to Senior Level requires a minimum of three years of experience at Level 2; is fully competent in all aspects of functional area of assignment and as such would be recognized as a specialist in area of assignment and may have periodic or occasional lead responsibilities.

**Education**

A bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution is required and a master’s degree in the area of specialty is preferred.

**Testing and Certifications**

Must possess the appropriate valid Arizona driver’s license.

**Hybrid Workplace**

SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.

**Job Brief**

Senior Engineer in the Power Delivery Electrical Engineering Services group will provide engineering services to SRP in a technically sound, safe, timely and cost effective manner to enable SRP to realize its goals and objectives for providing water and energy related services.

+ Special and non-standard substation and transmission line (including high voltage underground) project design, construction, and contractor oversight.

Some of the tasks will include the onsite operation of inspection systems and offsite auditing of suppliers for compliance. Collaboration with engineers is required to develop unique test plans, proper sequencing, and validate inspection techniques and setups.
