    The Distributed Systems Group (DSG) with the Division is focused on designing, testing, and applying edge solutions to enhance the resiliency and efficiency of our Nation's infrastructure and of distributed sites that rely on that infrastructure. Our work is paving the way to enable large numbers of devices to be effectively integrated into a holistic energy system. The Group stewards core research capabilities in: renewable technology integration; distribution system modeling and planning; grid architecture and system engineering; asset and portfolio valuation; and power electronics.

    The System Evaluation Team of DSG is looking for an intern who is willing to work on complex problems in national energy, security, and science; develop simulation scripts/tools; work with large amount of data; write scientific papers; and optimize solutions in interdisciplinary domains. This student will be mentored by research engineers with rich industry and research experiences. This student should have the ability to develop and model transmission systems and write scripts, run experiments, and report results. They will also be contributing to and developing papers to be submitted to peer-reviewed venues.
