    The Midwestern University Orthotics and Prosthetics Program in Glendale, Arizona invites applications for a full-time, 12-month, tenure track faculty position beginning July 5, 2022. The Master of Science in Orthotics and Prosthetics is a 30-month curriculum consisting of a 12-month on-campus didactic-formative education phase, and an embedded 18-month off-campus residency education phase.

    Faculty will work closely with the Program Director and Director of Residency Education to develop the curriculum, teach courses in area of expertise, and evaluate student outcomes to ensure learning goals and objectives meet or exceed accreditation standards. Additional responsibilities will include development of a productive area of scholarship, active participation in Program committees, advisement of students, and graduate research.

    Qualified applicants must possess an earned Master’s degree in Orthotics and Prosthetics (or a related field), and ABC certification in Orthotics and/or Prosthetics (dual certification would strengthen the application), and document a minimum of one year of clinical experience in the field. It is preferred that the applicant holds dual-discipline certification. The preferred applicant would also possess strong organization, communication, interpersonal skills, and a commitment to interprofessional collaboration. Salary and benefits are competitive for this position.

    Faculty are hired on a contract basis, renewable according to terms of the Conditions of Faculty Service (http://nau.edu/Provost/Resources-Policies/) . Employees offered a position will be eligible for state health plans (including NAU's BCBS Plan). Employees will have 31 days from date of hire to enroll in benefits, and their benefits will then be effective the first day of the pay period following their completed enrollment.

    If a new employee chooses the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS) retirement option, participation in the ASRS Plan (and the long-term disability coverage that accompanies it) will begin on the first of the pay period following 183 days of employment. New employees who choose to participate in the Optional Retirement Plan (ORP; an alternative to the ASRS plan) will begin to participate on the first day of employment. The long-term disability plan that accompanies the ORP will begin on the first day of the pay period following 90 days of employment.     + Collaborates with other instructors in preparing, administering, and grading examinations for the course. Participates in the preparation of the final evaluations for the course

    + Responsible for assuring class attendance and grades are kept and submitted

    + Assist with strategic planning and assessment of instructional initiatives to ensure quality of program

    + Plans and implements orientation of new faculty in both theory and clinical facilities for the courses
