This position allows for a hybrid work schedule with a mix of work spent in office and working remote from home .

+ Under the direction of the Mechanical Project Lead, this position will offer you the opportunity to work with multi-disciplined engineering and design project teams in developing mechanical general arrangement, piping isometric, pipe support, and mechanical equipment layout drawings in a 3-D model

+ Utilize Hexagon’s SmartPlant S3D modeling software and SPF database to generate mechanical design deliverables, BOMs, and commodity lists

+ Understand and interpret piping & instrumentation diagrams developed using SPID and create physical design consistent with the engineering requirements

+ Act as the mechanical design team lead in the coordination of detailed design phases for all aspects of an integrated mechanical design model

+ Resolve clashes and discrepancies in the 3D model and report status

+ Coordinate and provide guidance to other designers and project team members to ensure a complete and timely design

+ Independently plan and execute design of mechanical deliverables

+ Provide guidance as a mentor in the development of less experienced drafters and designers

Essential skills and experience:

+ Experience with SmartPlant S3D modeling software including the following:

+ Understanding of the integration aspects of SPID, SPF and S3D

+ Clash detection resolution

+ Discrepancy checks between deliverables

+ Interface with SmartPlant Administrators in the development of mechanical deliverable templates and catalogs

+ Drawing Presentation Rules Set Up

+ Plant model data management

+ Minimum three years of detailed design experience in the development of mechanical plant design drawings; piping, pipe supports and equipment layout

+ Proficiency with design software tools in executing 3D plant layout models

+ Experience in the review of project deliverables and drawing requirements

+ Experience in the review of vendor drawings and interface points

+ Ability to interface with engineering and design teams of other disciplines in the plant design process.

Valued but not required experience:

+ Proficiency with MicroStation and AutoCAD

**Qualifications You Must Have**

+ Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 12 years of prior Low Observables or Signature Management or Computation Electromagnetic Codes, Stealth or Survivability engineering technology experience. OR an Advance Degree in a related field and a minimum of 9 years’ experience.

+ Experience with Infrared signature analysis and/or control

+ Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

**Qualifications We Prefer**

+ Working knowledge of computational electromagnetic codes to include full wave codes, as well as asymptotic techniques using industry standard tools such as XPATCH, CARLOS, SENTRi, etc.

+ Infrared (IR) signature analysis and reduction experience including IR CEM tools

**Job Summary:**

The **RF Design Engineer** will use established procedures and work under limited supervision to perform assigned tasks by working cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Suppliers and Customers. Provide engineering services for RF/Microwave/ Millimeter communications hardware systems for defense application including responsibility for technical proposals, prototype to production, performance, customer presentations, schedule, and cost requirements. Will have expert knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures of assigned product or program. May lead a team of engineers on assigned projects.

**Essential Functions:**

+ Lead engineers for RF/Microwave/Millimeter communications hardware systems for defense application including technical proposals, prototype to production, performance, customer presentations, schedule, and cost requirements.

+ End-to-end systems analysis, model and simulate circuit or system performance using analytical tools, Cascade analysis or up/down converters.

+ Detailed analysis and design of RF (from VHF through millimeter-wave) and mixed-signal communications hardware components, including digital receiver subsystems and exciters (front ends, IF sections, phase-lock loops, AGC loops, synthesizers, A/D and D/A conversion).

+ Filter modeling, analysis and design.

+ System integration, test and development of RF/millimeter-wave communications hardware for space flight.

+ Work with teams to ensure that designs meet the customers' electrical, environmental, and internal manufacturing requirements and standards. Support internal concurrent design criteria.

+ Functional as technical interface for customers. Attend technical meetings and specification development with customer.

+ Translate customer specification and generate design documentation required for prototype and/or production releases, as needed.

+ Document new designs per established guidelines including, but not limited to, simulations, test circuit measurements, and tolerance analysis.

+ Provide appropriate input to the development of test procedures, fixtures, and software.

**Minimum Qualifications:**

+ BS in Electrical Engineering required, MS preferred.

+ Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in microwave/millimeter-wave design.

+ Experience with high reliability hardware from conceptual design through production delivery.

+ Knowledge of communication systems theory.

+ Systems architecture, RF architecture, RF/Microwave circuit design.

+ Detailed knowledge of RF and mixed-signal design technologies, including receivers, synthesizers, and transmitters.

+ Experience with microwave modeling tools (i.e., Genesys, ADS, AWR, Ansoft HFSS, Ansofl Designer, Ansoft Maxell, Matlab and AutoCAD or equivalent software.)

+ Electro-Magnetic circuit analysis experience desired (HFSS).

+ Excellent documentation, organization, communication, and time management skills.

+ Skilled at writing procedures, reports and acceptances test.

+ Demonstrated leadership skills. Ability to work in a team, and mentor junior engineers.

+ **Eligibility Requirement:** This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
