    The Medical Technologist I performs routine and specialized moderate and high complexity laboratory tests on blood and body fluid specimens under minimal supervision.     + Performs moderate and high complexity laboratory tests accurately and efficiently, ensuring timely reporting of results with appropriate documentation.

    + Conducts daily, weekly, and monthly instrument function checks and preventative maintenance according to laboratory policies and procedures.

    **VCA McCormick Ranch Animal Hospital and Emergency Center in Scottsdale, Arizona** is seeking for a CVT or 3-5 years experienced Veterinary Assistant that is proficient in surgery and has emergency and general practice.

    The successful candidate will be a believer in the possibilities of high quality veterinary medicine and patient care—with the expertise and technical know-how to make them happen.

    In this position you will be supporting our Doctors and Technician team by creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients. Duties will include:

    **Perform various procedures including fluid therapy, medication administration, enteral feedings, oxygen therapy, basic wound care and CPR.**

    **Triaging and assessment of patient status**

    **Conduct basic phlebotomy, IV catheterization, dose calculations, and hands free digital radiography.**

    **Familiarity with common drugs, including the safe handling and administration of controlled substances.**

    **Proficient in computer input, maintaining logs, and preparing hospital documents.**

    **Strong organizational skills and ability to prepare the clinic for subsequent shifts.**

    **Excellent client communication abilities for diverse situations like discharges, updates, grief counseling, and coordinating with other departments.**
