Responsibilities Serves as a Helicopter Senior Firefighter to provide leadership and oversight of wildland fire suppression / management / control work on a helitack module. Performs and/or oversees initial attack fire suppression activities, locates fireline, directs and participates in fireline construction, backfiring and burnout operations. Directs helicopter crewmember duties i.e., prepares internal/external cargo loads, briefs passengers, follows procedures for loading/unloading the helicopter, constructs helispots or landing areas, monitors dipsites, and prepares sling load sites. Leads aviation mission planning in coordination with pilot to include evaluation of environmental conditions, application of aviation safety plans, and briefing mission objectives. Participates in and may direct helicopter operations to include accompanying pilot on flights, providing radio communications to dispatch and/or ground firefighters, navigating with use of maps and applying aviation safety regulations. Inventories and inspects helicopter accessories, fire tools, and equipment including aerial ignition devices; and directs the readiness and assembly of helicopter support accessories and helicopter safety equipment. Gathers and considers information on weather data, topography, fuel types, and fire behavior in responding to wildland fire incidents. Performs administrative responsibilities to include training firefighters; ensuring that work is carried out safely; and timekeeping, travel administration, government credit card management and maintains records. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: (OPM Operating Manual, Qualification Standards for Wildland Firefighter, GS-0456. GS-7: 1 year of specialized wildland fire management work experience equivalent to the GS-6 grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal service. Examples of specialized experience include but are not limited to work as a lead wildland firefighter directing others in the use of a variety of specialized wildland fire tools and equipment; directing and performing prescribed burning; leading the operation of a wildland fire engine or suppression efforts of a helicopter module. Independently performing technical methods and procedures associated with wildfire suppression to resolve a full range of irregular or problem situations when suppressing wildland fires. Communicating critical information pertaining to incident objectives, situations and tactics. Served and led on a hand crew assigned to lead fire suppression under the most adverse conditions of climate, fuels, and terrain. SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR: This is a MANDATORY qualification prerequisites to qualify for this position. The applicant must have possessed the following Interagency Standards for Fire and Fire Aviation Operations under the BIA National Aviation Plan to be considered eligible for this helitack position identified as a Fire Helicopter Senior Fire Fighter (FHSF). Risks include smoke inhalation, fire entrapment, snake or insect bites and stings, exposure to excessive machinery noise, and falling and rolling material. Employee must adjust and cope with exposure to weather elements, dust and smoke, poor bivouac and eating situations under an unpredictable set of circumstances. Firefighters may be required to live in backcountry camps for extended periods of time. The hazardous nature of the work requires that personal protective equipment be worn (e.g., boots, hard hat, gloves, flame resistant clothing).     The Archaeological Technician II is a position that will be providing in-field and clerical support for projects located within the greater Phoenix area, and across Arizona. Required experience will include artifact identification, in-field documentation, and site recording knowledge.

We work when the contractors are working, which means some of our jobs start as early as 1:00 AM when concrete is being poured. The daily schedule, sent out the night before- between 5PM-6PM, provides the time of your first inspection the next day. You can expect to drive up to 200 miles a day, in a company-provided truck, as you move between job sites.

    Work Requirements:

    Must be able to work independently with little to no supervision. Lift up to 75 lbs., have a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and a desire to learn and grow with Arizona’s leading Geotechnical testing and inspection company.

    We have an immediate opening for a Construction Materials Testing Field Technician in Tucson Arizona, or nearby regions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of standard test methods performed in the field and be capable of executing these tests effectively.

    Responsibilities:

    + Conduct field testing of construction materials such as soil, concrete, and aggregates

    + Complete and submit detailed field reports

    + Communicate effectively with Project Management and Field Managers to ensure tasks are completed successfully

    Requirements

    Education & Experience:
