About the Position
As aMeter & Relay Electrician (https://www.governmentjobs.com/careers/capaz/classspecs/735727?keywords=electrician%20meter&pagetype=classSpecifications) , you would perform a variety of electrical work including to install, program, commission, maintain, test, adjust, troubleshoot and repair electrical and electronic equipment on the Central Arizona Project. In-state travel typically from Mondays through Thursdays would be required. A few of your specific main responsibilities would include:
+ Maintain, test, repair and troubleshoot complex, medium and high voltage electrical and electronic systems.
+ Safely perform lockout / tagout procedures.
+ Maintain, test, repair and calibrate protective relaying equipment including current, voltage, differential, timing, auxiliary, ground detection and complex impedance relays of electro-mechanical solid state, and microprocessor types.
+ Proficiently use specialized computer controlled electrical test instruments including Partial Discharge, power factor, megger, motor analyzer and other test equipment associated with predictive and preventive maintenance of large rotating, synchronous motors and generators.
+ Maintain, test, and repair utility scale substation equipment including breakers, regulators, capacitors, reactors, and power transformers.
+ Check, revise and update electrical schematics, drawing and diagrams as required.

About the Qualifications
Having completed a state or federal certified electrical apprenticeship, OR possessing the equivalent combination of education, related experience and demonstrated ability; PLUS at least three (3) years of journeyman-level work experience in an industrial electrical environment with technical and specialized knowledge is required to be successful in this position. **Amentum** is seeking an **Industrial Maintenance Electrician IV** to join our operations & maintenance team. This position is responsible for providing an advanced level of expertise in responding to work orders, troubleshooting, servicing, and documenting the electrical and controls needs of equipment and systems related to HVAC units for CNC production equipment, conveyors, motors, lighting systems, control circuits, VFDs, PLCs, conveyors, cranes, and hoists.
Must have the ability to maintain, improve, and participate in developing control systems, programming ladder logic / PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Wago, GE, MicroLogix, ControlLogix, PLC-5) and HMI. Works with controls and instrumentation such as thermocouples and transducers, as well as primary voltages up to and including 480v.
Provides instruction, mentors and trains less skilled technicians as needed. Effectively communicates with the site management team and the customer to understand requirements, solve electrical problems, and provide solutions to manufacturing problems.
