    OBJECTIVE: Customer referrals account for a significant number of new and repeat sales, and our installers are the last contact the homeowners will have with Liberty. Your actions during the installation will leave a final lasting impression of and for LAS products and personnel. You are expected to represent Liberty Awnings and Shades to the customer in a pleasant professional manner. Display confidence, knowledge, and efficient during the installation and product training with the customer after the completion of the installation and maintain a neat appearance while on the job site. You are not just an “Installer”, you are the final face of Liberty Awnings and Shades.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Receive daily installation appointments from installation scheduler and adhere to that schedule.
    • Update customers throughout the day and reschedule through the installation scheduler if schedule is significantly interrupted
    • Properly and efficiently install products, consistent with LAS policies.
    • Demonstrate each product to customers after installation, to assure customer’s understanding of product and to assure proper adjustment and operation
    • Thoroughly review all orders and associated paperwork to assure that all instructions and/or special needs are clear
    • Assure that truck is properly serviced and ready for use each day, advise Installation Manager of maintenance and service needs for truck
    • Assure that all products and necessary misc. parts and items are loaded onto truck
    • Make minor adjustments to product if/when such adjustments are required
    • Factory manufacturing and fabrication as required.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:
    • Installers will be required to work outside the majority of the time they are on the jobsite. This includes during the hot summer months and during the cold winter months.
    • Installers will occasionally be installing indoors or required to go indoors to perform a portion of the installation.
    • Installers will not be required to work if weather conditions are deemed unsafe by management
    • Travel is limited to the greater Phoenix Metro area in company vehicles. Personal vehicles are not required for this position.
    • Noise level is acceptable, and not excessive.

    WORK SKILLS AND JOB KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
    • Comprehensive knowledge of, and safe use of tools required for all installation projects

    • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure and perform the operations with common and decimal fractions and using common measuring tools.

    GCU Facilities manages and services all university-owned property. By the development and maintenance of the GCU campus and surrounding areas, the GCU Facilities team aims to support and ensure the accomplishment of the university’s mission. By working creatively and collaboratively, the Facilities team fulfills the needs of the university by successfully managing resources while delivering excellent customer service.

    Grand Canyon University is currently seeking a fulltime General MaintenanceRoofer. The roofer will perform work inspecting, maintaining, repairing, designing, modifying and/or altering roofing materials. Identifies source of roof leaks and damage and makes temporary and permanent repairs; conducts water tests to verify integrity of completed repairs.

    What you will do:

    + Provide a high level of customer service to students and/or faculty and staff. Install, maintain, repair, and inspect all types of roofing materials and protective coatings, such as but not limited to wood, shingles, slate, aluminum, metal, tile, single ply membranes (PVC, EPDM, modified bitumen, polyethylene), asphalt, energy efficiency coatings, and related materials.

    + Perform a variety of routine skilled general maintenance tasks including, but not limited to carpentry, painting, plumbing, mechanical and electrical trades work. Ensure that facilities are available for use and consistently maintained in a safe and clean condition.

    + Adhere to maintenance schedules and performs ongoing roof inspections on all types of roofs and writes detailed reports regarding future repairs.

    + Install, waterproof, repair, and maintain sheet metal/lead flashings, drain rings, gutters, down spouts, scuppers and all related components.

    + Locate and repair leaking roofs during and after rains.

    + Operate high lift boom truck, platform lift and/or plans and erects scaffolding and ladders in a safe manner as required by job site conditions.

    + Operate a variety of hand and power tools including but not limited to; woodworking equipment to include power saws, table saws, grinders, sanders etc.

    + Patch, paint and/or finish various types of hard surfaces.

    + Assess any damage to building, furnishings and or rooms and identifies type of repair work needed.

    + Respond to emergency needs and requests within designated time frames.

    + Coordinate work with customers, project managers, other crafts, and inspectors; inspects job sites and reviews detailed plans, drawings and oral directions to plan work.

    + Perform electronic recordkeeping related to preventative maintenance and repair. Track and close assigned work orders; may monitor work orders assigned to others and assist them in managing work orders.

    + Perform other duties as assigned.

    What you need:

    + High school diploma or equivalent

    + Trade school/training preferred.

    + Must have valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

    + Minimum 2 years’ experience in general maintenance, building maintenance, renovation, or construction.

    A Trades Worker II primarily performs journey-level work in one or more building trades (such as gate/overhead door maintenance, locksmithing, masonry/finishing, roofing, and welding) and may also perform some entry-level to journey-level work in one or more mechanical equipment trades (electrical; plumbing; evaporative coolers; and Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/Refrigeration ).     Roofer Assignment: Performs maintenance, repair, and modification of building roofs and related drainage and protective installations. Cleans and inspects roofs; repairs cracks, cuts, and splits; repairs or replaces metal flashings, roof drains, gutters, and downspouts; and installs shingles, asphalt, metal, insulation, vapor barriers, and other roof materials. Sets up parking and storage areas for roofing contractors. Measures, cuts, and installs roofing materials. Meets on-site with contractors to determine repairs and materials needed to obtain price quotations. Operates power-driven machinery and tools such as a forklift, drills, saws, and fasteners. Cleans work area and equipment. Works with roofing solvents, emulsion, and compounds using normal protective equipment to maintain safety standards. Works in a variety of weather conditions at elevated levels with a maximum height of 150 feet if on top of a building or 30 feet if on a ladder or lift to inspect, maintain, and repair roofs. Operates a personal computer (PC) to prepare technical specifications, cost estimates, budgets for roofing projects, and schedule installation, repair, and preventive maintenance work.
