    Summary

    The Field Mechanic (Heavy Equipment) is responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing Heavy Civil Construction Equipment.

    Essential Job Functions

    + Diagnoses problems and performs mechanical repair and maintenance of heavy civil construction equipment (including, but not limited to, bulldozers, scrapers, backhoes, front end loaders, yard trucks, forklifts, and company vehicles).

    + Inspects and documents condition of equipment for items needing repair or service.

    + Replaces or repairs defective parts using hand tools, power tools, cutting torches, and welding equipment.

    + Rebuilds or fabricates parts.

    + Lubricates moving parts and operates repaired equipment to verify conformance to specifications.

    + Performs tasks per preventative maintenance checklist.

    + Drives pick-up or service truck.

    + Safety conscious and responds to inquiries promptly; follows through to ensure the situation is taken care of correctly.

    + Other related duties as required or assigned.

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

    + A minimum of 5 years' experience in repair/maintenance/welding in heavy civil construction equipment required

    + High School diploma or its equivalent

    + Must be able to cut, weld and fabricate

    + Experience and knowledge of CAT ET diagnostic tool.

    + Must have the ability to climb ladders and operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner

    + Working knowledge and understanding of OSHA rules and regulations

    + Good communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment are required

    + Previous experience reading technical manuals and understanding of schematic diagrams preferred

    + This position is exposed to high temperatures; cool/cold temperatures; loud noises and fumes.

    + Work in the construction area poses significantly greater risk due to moving construction equipment and active construction zones with trip and fall hazards.

    + Requires valid state-specific driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record that meets Haydon's insurability requirements.

    **Responsibilities:**

    + Typical duties will include but not be limited to the following

    + Installs, operates, maintains, repairs, and modifies equipment primarily on warranty and non-warranty authorized repairs for customer owned material.

    + Analyzes and evaluates products.

    Grand Canyon University's Facilities department is seeking a Fleet Mechanic The Fleet Mechanic is responsible for investigating problems with the university fleet vehicles and making repairs accordingly. Their duties include communicating with vehicle operators to discuss the concerns, carrying out routine maintenance procedures on fleet vehicles and replacing parts on fleet vehicles to promote their functionality. This role will be located on our Main Campus at 33rd Ave and Camelback.

    What you will do:

    + Perform golf cart and shuttle bus assessments and repairs.

    + Assess high-speed vehicles and complete moderate level repairs as needed. Moderate repairs to include batteries, fuses, lights and etc.

    + Complete cart, shuttle bus and high-speed vehicle maintenance.

    + Maintain inventory in Facilities software program.

    + Train student workers on various departmental tasks.

    + Other duties as assigned.

    What you will need:

    + High school diploma or equivalent.

    + Experience conducting routine services and vehicle maintenance.

    + Demonstrated experience inspecting vehicles for faults and repairs.

    + Demonstrated experience with small engine repair.

    + Demonstrated experience with vehicle diagnostic equipment.

    + Must attain certification in maintenance and repair of large and mid-sized shuttles.

    + Must have valid driver’s license with clean driving record.

    + Must pass pre-employment background investigation.

    **Wind Field Technician**

    We are seeking a **Wind Field Technician** for our client on a direct hire basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing preventative and corrective maintenance. You'll perform inspections, repairs, and upgrades on wind turbines—ensuring peak performance and safety standards are met. Successful candidates must be willing to travel and perform tasks at various project sites throughout the US. Experience with renewable power generation equipment in a service environment is required. Up to $140 daily per diem for projects nationwide.

    **Job Requirements:**
