Summary This position is located at MWR Aquatics on Fort Huachuca, AZ. Multiple appointment types available: Regular Full Time, Regular Part Time, and Flexible. Bi-weekly reviews and lists sent to management starting 15 February 2024; additional lists may be sent at management request.** Responsibilities Serves as a lifeguard for indoor and outdoor pools and works under the direction of the Installation Aquatics Program Manager. Adheres to Customer Service standards of the Installation. Assists in maintaining pool, and area clean and free from any hazards. Employs safety rules for the protection of the pool guests. Responsible for lifeguarding guests in attendance at the assigned aquatics facility. Lifeguards will participate in any required training (on-the-job training emergency rescue drills, emergency action plan simulations). Attend aquatics and/or safety training as directed. Provides maximum pool area surveillance and responds to emergencies; rescues pool patrons and administers first aid as required. Assists in maintaining pool, and area clean and free from any hazards. Responsible for assisting in the conduct of aquatic swimming and water survival training according to TC 21-21 or assisting with American Red Cross swim lessons as an Aide. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Incumbent must possess and maintain the following certifications: 1. Lifeguarding and First Aid (American Red Cross or nationally recognized equivalent i.e. Star Guard, YMCA, or ELLIS) 2. American Red Cross "Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation for the Professional 3. CPR for the Professional Rescuer/AED or equivalent (American Heart Association CPR/AED) 4. Summary About the position: This position will be assigned to the Silver Wings Pool on Luke AFB. This is a Flexible position with no guaranteed hours or benefits. The first applicant list will be pulled on 22-Feb-24 and then every two weeks until the position is filled. Responsibilities Provides swimming lessons and instruction to groups of adults and/or children, or to individual adults or children. Instructs patrons on rules and procedures for safe swimming. Works in swimming pool environment where lifeguards are present to perform lifesaving activity. May assist lifeguards in inspecting pools for safe conditions, and perform other duties as assigned for the daily operation of the swimming pool to include: cleaning of bath houses, wading pools, main pools, and pool decks. Looking for a few good swim instructor candidates for part time teaching in the Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert and/or Tempe area. MUST have at least one year teaching experience and must have reliable transportation. Teaching means teaching young children water safety and swim instruction.
CPR certified a must, WSI a bonus!

Four afternoon/eve positions open and a few morning shifts available.
