**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Prior experience delivering merchandise to customers using a box truck or similar vehicle.

+ 3+ years of experience operating material handling equipment.

+ No more than 2 minor accidents in the past rolling 3 years.

+ No more than 2 moving violations in the past rolling 3 years.

+ Wholesale distribution experience.

**Job Summary**

Facilitates load management, including the accurate and efficient dispatching of all dedicated drivers in the facility. Trains and provides support to new and existing associates on the transportation team. This position requires operation of a company or rental vehicle, and this operation may be done during the average work week. If selected for this position, the company will continuously monitor Motor Vehicle Records (MVRs). A requirement of this position is an acceptable MVR status and a valid driver’s license.

**Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities**

+ Coordinates the loading and dispatching of all driver routes.

+ Oversees pre- and post-trip inspections in accordance with Department of Transportation regulations and internal policies and procedures.

+ Conducts daily route planning and optimization for drivers.

+ Serves as the primary point-of-contact for all driver-related issues.

+ Coaches and trains new and existing drivers on policies and procedures and provides feedback to management on team performance.

+ Reviews order manifests to ensure customer orders and daily routes are complete and accurate.

+ Delivers customer orders within a service area, including interfacing with customers on order issues.

+ Provides feedback to management on escalated customer service and sales-related concerns.

**Nature and Scope**

+ Problems are typically difficult and/or high impact. Troubleshoots complex support or operational problems for junior level associates.

+ Under limited supervision, independently resolves issues and applies a variety of methods to develop customized solutions. May lead the daily operations of a department or team. Work typically involves infrequent review of output by a supervisor or direct customers of the process.

+ Assists with supervisory duties but does not have hiring/firing authority. Trains, delegates tasks, and reviews the work of junior level associates.

**Work Environment**

+ Typically located in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors that may cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness, such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noises, and fumes.

+ Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting, and maneuvering material or equipment that may be heavy (50+ pounds) or awkward.

+ Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

**Education and Experience**

+ Technical certification or associate degree may be required in some areas. Generally 7+ years of experience in area of responsibility.

**Qualifications:**

+ Prior truck driving experience is required

+ Must be at least 21 years of age

+ Valid state issued driver license

+ Possession of a DOT Medical Card or the ability to acquire a DOT Medical Card

+ Ability to lift items that weigh up to of 50lbs independently

+ A background in warehouse operations and logistics, including shipping, receiving and delivery is a plus

+ Good communication and customer service skills

+ General digital literacy

+ Product knowledge or the ability to quickly learn it

**Responsibilities:**

+ Deliver materials to the customer, which includes loading and unloading, and ensuring delivery of ticket with material

+ Pick up customer returns, validating product match for credit requests

+ Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections, fuel the truck as needed, and report any problems or issues to supervisor

+ Follow all DOT (Department of Transportation) standards and regulations

+ Follow and implement all company safety policies and procedures

+ Assist warehouse personnel with pulling and preparing orders for shipment as needed, as well as receiving, verifying, staging and stocking incoming material

+ Ability to work overtime as needed

Essential Duties and responsibilities

+ Drive company vehicle to deliver food & restaurant items

+ Complete pre-trip/post-trip inspections and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment to ensure that vehicle is in proper working condition

+ Operate vehicle in a safe manner, obeying all traffic laws & established traffic patterns

+ Safely utilize a 2-wheeled dolly to unload products from truck

+ Provide excellent customer service while delivering of products

+ Complete required invoicing; turn in all receipts/cash collections from deliveries

+ Maintain records, such as vehicle logs, manifests, invoices in accordance with regulations

+ Immediately report any mechanical problems encountered with vehicle

Minimum Requirements

+ 21+ years of age.

+ Must submit to a pre-employment background check and drug screen.

+ License to drive - valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) with a clean driving record.

+ Ability to read, write and communicate in English.

+ Touch freight - may need to lift, push or move product weighing an average of 40-60 pounds and as much as 100 pounds repeatedly.

+ Flexibility - overtime as required, weekends and holidays as business needs require.

Preferred Requirements

+ 1 year customer delivery experience preferred.

+ 6 months hand cart/hand truck experience preferred.

+ 6 months Food and Beverage experience preferred.

+ 2 years consistent work history preferred.

Working conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to work indoors and outdoors, in hot/cold, wet/dry environments depending on the season. The employee will be required to enter coolers or freezer areas to deliver products. The noise level is usually moderate.

Physical requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to drive for long periods of time. In addition, the employee will be

required to walk, sit, speak, read, hear, bend, reach above/below shoulders, and lift heavy objects, up to 75 lbs. Specific vision required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

The Child Care Center Bus Driver is responsible for safely transporting children and staff on field trips, to and from school, and other locations. The Driver ensures that the bus is regularly maintained and safe for driving under all applicable state and municipal regulations.

Jimmy John's Delivery Driver's goal is to get that perfectly made sandwich in the customer's hand as quick as can be. We do this by learning the most efficient route, double-checking orders to ensure everything is accounted for, and hustling on our feet (while always being safe and law-abiding while on the street). Our Drivers do great with the small delivery area and high volume of CONSISTENT deliveries. Drivers take home cash every day!

While not on the road, Drivers work as Inshoppers and will be required to learn the menu with 100% accuracy, help take orders, make sandwiches and assist us in maintaining a clean restaurant.

Delivery is a customer service job so knowing the menu, following customer's requests and following through with a smile can lead to more successful days!

**Requirements:**

+ Must be at least 18 years old

+ Must have a vehicle, valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and a clean driving record

+ Drive safe and obey the rules of the road

+ Work as an in-shopper when there are no deliveries and learn the menu with 100% accuracy

**Additional Requirements:**

• Must be able to lift 30-40 lbs. regularly throughout shifts

• Ability to stand, bend, reach and scoop through-out assigned shift

• Ability to be mobile in walk-in refrigerator and freezer with temperatures ranging from 40° F to -10° F

We slice our all-natural* meats and fresh veggies in-house every day. Our fresh-baked bread is made right here where you can see it, and our house-made tuna salad is fresh every day. The flavor of a ripe tomato, crisp shredded lettuce, combined with fresh-baked bread, fresh-sliced meat and real Hellmann's® mayo - that's when the magic happens.
