**Required Skills:**

Production Engineer Responsibilities:

1. Participate in the design, implementation and ongoing management of major site applications and subsystems.

2. Own back-end services like Hadoop data warehouses, front-end services like Messenger and Newsfeed, infrastructure components like Memcache infrastructure, and everything in between.

3. Write and review code, develop documentation and capacity plans, and debug difficult problems live, on some of the largest and most complex systems in the world.

4. Work together with relevant engineering teams, sharing an on-call rotation for the reliability of service.

5. Partner alongside the best engineers in the industry.

6. Work on code and systems that will be in production and used by millions of users all around the world.

7. Ensure that Meta's services run smoothly and have the capacity for future growth.

8. Telecommute from anywhere in the US permitted.

**Minimum Qualifications:**

Minimum Qualifications:

9. Employer will accept a Master’s Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Requires completion of a university-level course, research project, internship, or thesis in the following:

10. Coding in Python, C++, PHP, or Java

11. TCP/IP network fundamentals and UNIX system concepts

12. Configuration and maintenance of common applications: Apache, memcached, Squid, MySQL, NFS, DHCP, NTP, SSH, DNS, or SNMP

13. Working on large-scale internet service architectures: load balancing, LAMP, or CDN's

14. Troubleshooting, including diagnosing low-level hardware issues to large scale failures within datacenter clusters

15. Building large, highly-scalable performant solutions

16. Software development tools: Code editors (VIM or Emacs) and revision control systems (Mercurial, Subversion, GIT, or Perforce)

17. Software development in a Unix environment or data processing environment

18. Linking core web technologies system design and configuration to form an end-to-end solution.

**Public Compensation:**

$158,736/year to $194,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
