Join our company and be part of an innovative team that’s First in Food. Location Description Michael Foods, Inc. located in Yuma, Arizona nestled between Phoenix and San Diego. Yuma features extraordinary outdoor activities from tubing on the Colorado River to off-roading at the Buttercup Sand Dunes. Our location produces hard boiled eggs for a vast number of both retail and food service customers. Responsibilities POSITION SUMMARY: A Process Operator is responsible for safely operating computerized and manual process systems to efficiently produce high quality and safe products to meet company and customer specifications. Responsibilities will include assisting in other departments or other duties as requested by management. The employee has the responsibility to comply with Safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value. Ensures that all policies, procedures, and activities, related to Food Safety & Quality are followed and complied with uniformly, to reduce product and process variability. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assumes personal responsibility to insure a safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adheres to all safety policies/procedures and incorporates safety and health in all job’s duties/tasks. Adheres to safe work practices, follows GMP’s, maintains sanitary conditions and ensures that product quality is maintained. Reports any conditions or practices that may adversely affect employee safety or food safety/quality to management immediately Maintain and operate all equipment in a safe manner to avoid injury to self or others and demonstrate safety as a top priority. Follow all SQF principles pertinent to your position as specified by the SQF Practitioner. Report all Food Safety & Quality issues to a Supervisor, QA Manager, or Senior Manager. Inspecting/sorting the eggs and ensuring the best quality product is being packaged. Responsible for confirming and verifying weight of product. Ensures the labels and product date and type is correct. Places proper labels on boxes. Ensures that bags and pails are properly sealed and clean. Inspect/Check the quality of eggs. Removes broken eggs. Understands dates, expiration and item numbers. Minimize product loss Keep work area neat, clean, and sanitary Report all work-related injuries or unsafe conditions to supervisor immediately Use appropriate safety equipment when required (ear plugs, rubber boots, safety glasses, face shields, aprons, bump caps, etc.) Use lockout/tag out procedures when required Follow instructions from supervisor and cooperate with coworkers and other departments; be willing to fill in where needed Maintain good personal hygiene Able to work weekends, holidays and overtime as needed. Perform other duties as Qualifications Assumes personal responsibility to insure safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and incorporate safety and health in all jobs and tasks. Self-motivated while also willing to ask questions and seek direction. Demonstrates the ability to maintain positive interpersonal relationships and work effectively with others to complete work assignments. Able to work independently or with others in a team environment depending upon the assignment. Maintain a positive attitude. Ability to work around required cleaning solutions. Ability to work in cold, wet, noisy, dusty and humid environments. Possesses good hand-eye coordination. Able to stand on hard surface most of the shift, ascend and descend stairs, bend, stoop or crouch, grasp and reach. Ability to lift up to 50lbs. Standing for long periods of time. The noise levels in the work environment will range from moderate to loud. The essential functions of the job must be performed with or without reasonable accomodations.
