Summary About the position: This position will be assigned to the Davis Monthan AFB, Heritage Inn Hotel. This position is a Flexible position, meaning it does not guarantee any hours, but comes with the eligibility of working up to 40. Responsibilities 1. Receives soiled laundry from authorized Force Support Squadron (FSS) activities. Separates laundry into classes, counts and records numbers of each different article. 2. Loads washers, selects cycle and wash time. Removes laundry at the end of cycle and places in dryers. 3. Selects dryer cycle and time best suited for product. Removes items from dryer and folds or prepares for pressing. 4. Items selected for pressing are processed on the mechanical presser taking care not to scorch or burn. 5 Assists in maintaining records of all laundry received, processed and returned. Makes calls as directed to contact managers for delivery or pick-up of laundry products. 6. Assists with orders for laundry products. 7. Ensures cleanliness of washers, dryer, sinks, laundry products, etc: and keeps lint traps cleaned as often as required. Performs other housekeeping chores as directed by supervisor. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Experience in the operation of washers and dryers. Experience in the setting of proper heat and time for specific loads of laundry. Experience in using a mechanical presser is desired. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying. Additional Information Individual must fully meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position. Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must be registered for Selective Service. Direct deposit is required. Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check. A probationary period may be required. Pre-employment requirements must be satisfactorily met prior to Entrance on Duty (EOD). Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
