Job Description

Our client, based in Arizona, is seeking an experienced Azure ETL Quality Assurance Analyst to join their team. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the quality and reliability of data and pipelines on Azure Databricks. The successful candidate will collaborate with data engineers, vendors, and business stakeholders to validate data, create test cases, and contribute to the overall success of the project. The Quality Assurance Engineer will create tests to find any problems with software before the product is launched. They will identify and analyze any bugs found during testing and document them, coach their team on managing testing tools, reporting results, and motivating process improvement. A normal work day for this candidate includes developing new tests to run, running the tests, and documenting the results; if any defects are noted the quality assurance engineers will need to collaborate with the software developers to find a fix and patch the program. Once the defect has been patched, they will need to run the test again to make sure there are no new bugs and to make sure the defect found has been corrected.

Responsibilities:

Data Testing and Validation: Perform rigorous testing of data pipelines and ETL processes on Azure Databricks. Validate data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.

Test Case Preparation: Develop comprehensive test cases and test plans based on project requirements and business rules.

Collaboration: Work closely with 3rd-party vendors to understand data sources, transformations, and business logic.

Medium-Sized Data Handling: Test JSON files received from the vendor, with each file representing data for a 15-minute interval.

Skills and Requirements

- 5+ years of experience as a Quality Assurance Analyst

- Extensive experience with manual testing

- 3+ years of experience working with Databricks, specifically being able to write queries in Databricks

- 5+ years of experience working with SQL

- 3+ years of experience with Azure

o Experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF), specifically how to run pipelines

- Experience working in a retail environment

- Must be local on EST (preferred) or CST hours null
