**POSITION SUMMARY:**

The Sr. Safety, Health, & Environmental (SH&E) Manager has responsibility for the Safety, Health, and Environmental management systems for the facility which includes a factory and distribution center, in alignment with the company’s Safety, Health, & Environmental programs. This position will serve as a catalyst and expert resource to promote and develop an innovative and proactive safety culture within the facility. The Sr. SH&E Manager reports directly to the Sr. Factory Manager.

**PRIMARY RESPONSBILITIES:**

+ Provide strategic leadership and partnership to the site leadership team, while managing internal and external stakeholders.

+ Utilize change management to drive implementation of safety systems and processes.

+ Serve as a coach, functional expert, and change agent to drive behavior-based safety programs, safety as a value culture, environmental excellence, and continuous improvement.

+ Integrate and drive functional efforts to achieve and maintain third party SH&E certifications.

+ Collaborate with other facility functions (purchasing, engineering, maintenance, quality assurance, etc.) to ensure new products, capital projects, and functional activities are aligned with the facility SH&E objectives.

+ Oversee training programs for safety incident prevention and protection and environmental management.

+ Partner with HR on health and well-being programming.

+ Coordinate and oversee SH&E performance, prevention, and directs activities at the facility.

+ Develop and implement processes and procedures to ensure facility, employee, visitor, and contractor compliance are within compliance to company and regulatory agency safety and environmental policies, including related federal, state, and local legislation and regulations.

+ Lead continuous improvement teams such as the SH&E Pillar.

+ Actively participate on corporate/divisional SH&E teams, initiatives, and projects.

**EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:**

+ Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in an environmental and/or safety-related discipline.

+ Minimum 7 years of experience in leading safety, loss control, risk management, environmental, and/or occupational health activities. Experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.

+ Minimum of 3 years of experience with leading teams, projects, and/or cross functional initiatives

+ Experience with SH&E programs including hazardous and non-hazardous waste, wastewater, air permitting, chemical management, natural resource management, energy control and isolation, confined space entry, hazard communication, respiratory protection, hearing conservation, and powered industrial truck safety preferred.
