**Job Description**

The Principal Data Scientist is an independent analytics professional who produces data-driven insights to make a positive impact on healthcare outcomes. They are responsible for designing and developing processes for analytic code development and optimization for machine learning, predictive modeling, and reporting for complex pharmacy and medical health insurance clinical programs and services (e.g., pharmaceutical manufacturer value based contracts, provider accountable care organization pharmacy metrics, medical policy, utilization management, medication adherence, and medication therapy management ) and quality metrics (e.g., URAC, HEDIS, PQA, and CMS star measures). This position may have direct supervisory responsibility for entry-level and mid- level analysts/data scientists.

**Responsibilities**

+ Conceptualizesadvancedscientificmodeldesign,including advanced predictive modeling, with healthclaims data, applying statisticaltheoriesandmethodstosolve complex technicalproblems

+ Finalizemodel projectdeliverables andensurefindings are valid, reliable, and reproducible

+ Useand direct others in theuse of open-source data science tools to createandmaintain features, listings, tabulations, graphicalsummaries, andformal statisticalestimates andtests

+ Performanddirect othersintheperformanceofadvanced predictive modeling for clinical program development/enhancement

+ Develop automatedproduction analysis tools where appropriateand createproductionpredictivemodeling process for clinical programs

+ Mentor and coach less experiencedDataScientists and analysts;mayhavedirectsupervisionover exempt level employees

+ Otherdutiesasassigned

**Minimum Qualifications**

+ Bachelor’sdegree instatistics,mathematics,epidemiology,

+ or relatedarea of study, or equivalent combination of educationand/orrelevantworkexperience;HSdiplomaor GED is required

+ 8 yearsofrelatedworkexperience withlargedata sets,SQL, open-source data science tools, and buildingpredictive models

+ Experience in leading collaborative coding, code review, and code documentation

+ Mustbe eligible towork inthe UnitedStateswithoutneed for work visa or residency sponsorship

Potential pay for this position ranges from $109,000.00 - $174,000.00 based on experience and skills. Pay range may vary by 8% depending on applicant location.
