**Where You Will Work **

Our global headquarters is in Phoenix, Arizona. Several hundred employees support global operations in finance, human resources, information technology, planning and more from the main office, satellite offices or online. As a Hybrid employee, you will collaborate primarily virtually anywhere in the U.S. except California, Connecticut, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, and South Carolina. Additional states may be excluded based on business factors. Occasionally, you may be required to attend in-person meetings at our Collaboration Hub in Phoenix and/or one of our site locations. The Collaboration Hub provides an open, flexible workspace for individuals and teams to come together for various business needs. Amenities at the Hub include a working café, phone booths and meeting rooms with technology tools for virtual and in-person collaboration. In-person attendance may vary based on the position and department requirements.

**Description**

Manages mine engineering departments ensuring that safe and efficient mine plans for underground operations are generated, assuring continuity of ore deliveries to the mill through forward looking mine planning. This includes accountability for associated process, systems and standards. Responsible for the mine department operating budget, capital projects, medium- and long-term planning and timely development of new deposits.

+ Responsible for developing safe and productive mine designs for all underground works at PT Freeport Indonesia. Coordinates with various other departments (safety, legal, mine operations, mine maintenance, plant, environmental and community development) support so that mine designs are safe, fit for purpose and ultimately productive.

+ Coordinates mine plans to ensure proper mine sequence and sustained safe metal achievement. Ensures the short- and medium-term scheduling efforts align to the long-term strategy.

+ Responsible for inspired safety leadership of the mine engineering departments. Ensures the provisions of the ESIA related to the mine are completed.

+ Manage design workflows, survey data workflows and ensure integrity of both. Ensure all design and as built information and documentation is both easily accessible and secure.

+ Support site teams with GAs for typical designs, such as undercut blast, drawbells blast and raise construction.

+ Ensure that staff in the team are maintaining effective relationships and developing technical skills of site teams. Ensure external relationships and alliances are maintained to effect best practice to design.

+ Responsible for the design quantities and costs for the mine.

+ Perform other duties as requested.

**Qualifications**

Minimum Requirements:

+ Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or closely related engineering or scientific discipline and ten (10) years of experience in mine engineering or geotechnical engineering, including lead or supervisory experience; OR

+ Master’s degree in Mining Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or closely related engineering or scientific discipline and eight (8) years of experience in mine engineering or geotechnical engineering, including lead or supervisory experience

+ Ability to travel internationally up to 20% of the time.

+ Knowledge in the principles and practices of Mining, Geologic, Geotechnical, Hydrologic Engineering or a related field of Engineering

+ Able to demonstrate technical competence through design and/or operations experience in at least one of the following work areas: Underground Block Cave or Stope mining.

+ Proficient in MS Office and other engineering tools (Deswik, PCBC, Ventsim)

+ Present a positive, professional image.

+ Self-motivated, energetic, able to execute, and client-service oriented.

+ Be able to prioritize tasks and work well under pressure.

+ Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety of yourself and others.

+ Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Professional Registration in Engineering

+ Experience with metal mining operations, especially with underground excavation design and support, management and operations

+ Able to evaluate and implement new methods and techniques in technical projects and operational support

+ Expert in managing programs with various levels of operational staff and professionals

+ Project Management experience

+ Fluency in Bahasa Indonesian languages

+ Ability and willingness to travel internationally and at a frequency of several weeks in each quarter year

Criteria/Conditions:

+ Required to pass a physical and travel to mine site in Indonesia on regular basis

+ Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.

**What We Offer You**

The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently **$130,000-$182,000.** This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional incentive compensation considerations based on company and individual performance. Additionally, this position is currently eligible for annual long-term incentive consideration. Long-term incentives are contingent upon authorized approval under the terms and conditions of the Company's plan and award agreements. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
