**Responsibilities**
**Job Summary:**
Assists with the efficient operation of the department. The job is responsible for supporting patient care in the performance of reception, support, and general clerical duties including receiving incoming calls and visitors, facilitating communication among staff and maintaining department records.
+ Address staffing needs upon request.
+ Monitors nursing personnel information to keep accurate and up to date.
+ Demonstrates ability to use available software programs.
+ Contributes to the efficient operations of the unit and department.
+ Follows the directions of the nurse manager by collecting unit data to identify trends and improve unit outcomes.
+ Greets and assists all customers, physicians, patients, visitors and employees in a friendly and timely manner. Facilitates and directs communication among visitors, employees and physicians within the assigned work area. Assists physicians in locating patients, staff and information. Maintains and updates phone list/database/etc.
+ Maintains a neat and organized work environment; orders, stocks and replenishes supplies and equipment as necessary; identifies and reports problems with supplies or equipment; enters equipment repair requests in system, tags equipment and removes from service.
**Qualifications**
**Minimum:**
HS Diploma/GED
American Heart Association BLS
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in daily and long-term assignments.
**Preferred:**
One year of clerical work experience or related experience in the health care field and entry level computer experience.
**Pay Range**
$18.00- $19.94 /hour
