The IT Project Coordinator Intern is to assist in managing and delivering IT projects. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, help ensure projects stay on track, and gain hands-on experience in project management within an IT environment.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
• Assist Project Specialists in developing Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Power Platform (including Power BI), and new EDI platform migration
• Meet and assist in evaluating vendors for new projects
• Attend weekly team meetings for reporting on status of projects
• Assist with requests from Sales, Customer Service, and Distribution departments for new software review and application
• Effectively communicate with a variety of internal and external stakeholders using multiple tools to ensure effective visual communication
• Perform similar level or nature of duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience:
• Currently enrolled in an accredited university or college with a cumulative GPA of at 3.0 or higher
• Pursuing related degree in Computer Science/Engineering/ Information Technology or Data Science
Knowledge of:
• Proficiency with project management tools and collaboration platforms (Microsoft Teams)
• Basic understanding of IT infrastructure and software development processes
Skill in:
• Using computer hardware, including keyboard, mouse, monitor, and related hardware
• Microsoft Access, Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook
• Strong communication skills to effectively convey information to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Organizational and time management skills to prioritize multiple tasks and projects
• Problem solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues

Activities will involve frequent sitting, using a computer, analyzing large amounts of data, communicating verbally and in writing. Exerting 20- 50 pounds occasionally, 10- 25 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly. Operate a variety of standard office equipment including a computer, telephone, calculator, copy and fax machine requiring continuous and repetitive arm, and hand and eye movement. Move and operate presentation equipment. Travel to and from meetings and various locations inside and outside the building.

The work environment is frequently within an office setting with low to moderate noise, LED lighting, and
temperature control while working alongside large groups of employees in cubicle spaces. Incumbents will attend various business meetings and events inside and outside of the buildings and may be required to travel overnight or out of-town for work. Occasional exposure to the manufacturing and distribution plant consisting of moving mechanical parts or heavy machinery, vibrations, fumes, unpleasant odors, dust, poor ventilation, chemicals, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, and moderate to loud noise while in the plant or traveling for work. Work during evenings and weekends as needed.
Internship Requirements
• Must be currently enrolled at EMCC
• Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA
• Must have completed at least one semester at Maricopa Community Colleges or previous internship experience
• Pursuing a related degree in Computer Science/Engineering/Information Technology or Data Science.
