Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an **Engineer Systems Modeling Simulation / Principal Engineer Systems Modeling Simulation** to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Systems Engineering organization. This role is located in **Melbourne, FL**

**This requisition may be filled at either the Base OR Principal level based on the listed qualifications, below**

In this role, you will work in a team environment, the ideal candidate will have the ability to take ownership of challenging problems, drive them to a solution, and provide leadership for implementing the solution. It is critical that you understand the various aspects of the entire development life cycle of complex DoD aircraft.

**Key Responsibilities:**

+ Working with internal business partners to gather requirements, develop prototype models, and architect solutions in support of various System of Systems activities in a fast-paced Science and Technology Mission Engineering-focused environment.

+ Support specific areas in the full life cycle of engineering development, to include requirements development, modeling and simulation, verification and validation (V&V) activities, etc.

+ Analyze both simulated and live flight data results and metrics to assess overall mission effectiveness associated with current and future operational capability improvements.

+ Apply technical expertise in solving complex integration challenges. Excellent communication skills are required

**Basic Qualifications (Base):**

+ Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline AND 2 years of related professional/military experience OR a Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 0 years of related professional/military experience OR a STEM Ph.D. AND 0 years of related professional/military experience

+ Must have an active DoD Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)

+ Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the Company

+ Must have general knowledge of Windows and Linux Operating Systems

+ Must have basic level programming skills in MATLAB

**Basic Qualifications (Principal):**

+ Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline AND 5 years of related professional/military experience OR a Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 3 years of related professional/military experience OR a STEM Ph.D. AND 1 years of related professional/military experience

+ Must have an active DoD Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)

+ Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the Company

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Programming experience in Python

+ Experience in Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MS&A) Techniques

+ Familiarity with formal Systems Engineering verification and validation processes

+ Experience with simulations frameworks, performance models, algorithms, threat models, and command & control models

+ Ability to obtain and maintain TS Clearance

+ Experience modeling operational environments, conducting trade studies via computer simulation

+ Knowledge of Integrated Air Defense systems and capabilities

+ Monte Carlo simulation experience

**Salary Range:** $75,300 - $112,900

**Salary Range 2:** $92,600 - $139,000

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
