Title: Student Services Strategist

Date Available: 2025/2026 School Year

Closing Date: UNTIL FILLED

Contract Terms: 10 Months

Salary Classification: Certified Exempt - $70,000/year

General Statement of Responsibilities:
The Student Services Strategist works directly with the Director of Student Services and relevant team members collaboratively to enhance staff capacity with regards to MTSS, 504 and Specialized Programs as it pertains to district compliance, adherence to Best Practices and overall effectiveness across the relevant divisions of the department.

Essential Functions:

Instructional Coaching

-Serves as District point person for MTSS liaising with site coordinators and principals; supports relevant training initiatives.
-Serves as District point person for 504 liaising with site coordinators and principals; supports relevant training initiatives.
-At direction of Student Services Director, serves as a coach for special education instructional staff (In collaboration with site administration and general education staff) in their work to implement research-based teaching and behavior intervention techniques based on individual student data.
-Make recommendations on resources needed to meet students' Instructional and behavioral needs through tiered interventions (MTSS/MTBS).
-Coordinators with ADE on MTBS grant initiatives (if awarded by ADE).
-Observes classroom instruction and provides feedback to teachers/practitioners/instructional leaders.
-Assist teachers in creating meaningful data collection protocols.
-Assists teachers with data analysis and informed instructional planning.
-Other duties as assigned.

Site and District Collaboration

-Collaborate with site administrators, the Director of Student Services, SPLI Directors, and other members of the District Leadership team to develop and deliver targeted (specialized) coaching.
-Attends SUSD and other professional development opportunities and builds systems to share relevant training and information with staff regarding MTSS and 504.
-Collaborates with campus administration and staff to ensure that students with IEPs receiving general education instruction and specially designed instruction through the development of student specific schedules in alignment with their IEPs.
-Conducts periodic IEP reviews for comparison to classroom programming in order to ensure that IEPs are meaningful, appropriate, and implemented with fidelity; shares relevant information with practitioners, as well as site and department administration.

Qualifications:
A. REQUIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE

-Master’s degree in special education or related field
-Valid Arizona Special Education Teaching Certificate.
-Five (5) years of special education leadership experience, including IEP and 504
-Five (5) years of MTSS/Tiered Intervention experience.
-Demonstrated experience in creating, organizing, and training for instructional programs.
-Evidence of successful experience in communication with school system personnel, students, parents, and the community in promoting school-community relations
-Record of successful experience in working with a diverse population including students with linguistic and cultural variety and/or within the school and community
-Any equivalent combination of experience, training, or education that meets the minimum qualifications
-Experience or training in both elementary and secondary education
Must hold the Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card
-Valid Driver’s License

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

TIME MANAGEMENT: Must plan as much as one year in advance;

PUBLIC CONTACT: Interacts with employees, students, parents, and the general public;

EVALUATION PROCEDURE: In accordance with Governing Board policy;

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to the Director of Student Services

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: None.
