**Responsibilities**
**Position Summary:**
A CommonSpirit Health Nurse Resident is a **new graduate** direct clinical care registered nurse (RN) who continues to develop nursing knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors introduced in formal education as they **transition into practice** . They are expected to demonstrate the appropriate competency in both core and functional areas, listed below. Progression is expected in the areas of leading through mission vision and values, patient/customer focus, taking ownership, health care knowledge, teamwork, clinical performance improvement, service excellence, decision making and critical thinking, and patient safety.
+ Builds skills to utilize current evidence based practice knowledge, the nursing process, critical thinking and problem solving skills to provide holistic care to individuals across the lifespan and care continuum.
+ Learns to collaborate and communicate with the interprofessional team to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes.
+ Accountability for own practice, delegated care, and the coordination of care delivery. Behaves in a manner that supports colleagues, and maintains respect, trust and dignity.
+ Acquires and maintains knowledge in nursing practice and assumes responsibility for the professional development of self.
**Qualifications**
**Minimum Qualifications:**
+ Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with a minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Nursing required.
+ 0-12 months of professional nursing (RN) experience.
+ Active License as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State in which s/he will be practicing or the state of primary residency if the state is a Nurse Licensure Compact state.
+ BLS certification - American Heart Association
+ Additional certifications may be required based on population(s) served and services provided.
+ Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

**Pay Range**
$44.87 - $62.19 /hour
