Job Title: Phlebotomist III - Prescott

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist III to join our team in Prescott. The ideal candidate will have great experience in phlebotomy and experience in a fast-paced laboratory or hospital setting. This role involves performing blood draws, labeling specimens, and maintaining accurate records. You will be an essential part of our team, ensuring specimens are collected and stored according to established procedures while providing courteous and clear communication with patients.

Responsibilities

+ Perform blood draws using straight needles and butterfly needles.

+ Label and centrifuge specimens accurately and according to test requirements.

+ Record maintenance data and ensure decontamination protocols are followed.

+ Update patient information and match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.

+ Package specimens for transport, ensuring they are stored at required temperatures.

+ Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations and attend annual department trainings.

+ Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.

Essential Skills

+ Phlebotomy skills and experience with blood draws.

+ Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite.

+ Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment.

+ Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.

+ High School Diploma or GED with 5-7 years of relevant experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Ability to troubleshoot and make workflow recommendations.

+ Understanding of physicians' orders and laboratory procedures.

Work Environment

This position requires working in a fast-paced lab or hospital environment. The role involves handling specimens and using various technologies and equipment. The work environment complies with OSHA and DEP regulations, ensuring a safe and organized setting for both employees and patients. Hours - M-F 7a-4p

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $24.59/hr.
