**Boeing Defense & Space (BDS)** is seeking a **Lead Project Engineer** to join the Phantom Works Special Technology team in **Mesa, AZ** .

The ideal candidate should have experience in leading project teams on development programs and composite manufacturing programs. Candidate should have experience in developing Statements of Work, Budgetary and Proposal estimates, leading multi-disciplinary teams on the projects, updating project plans, and communication with suppliers and internal/external customers.

The Lead Project Engineer will provide Engineering leadership to a team representing multiple skill areas, including internal and external resources and customers. Works in a development shop, prototyping environment. Requires a self-starter who can lead with minimal on-site supervision in a remote environment. Develops statement of work (SOW) and proposals to satisfy research and development, ongoing and new business requirements. Works with customers and management to obtain approval. Responds to changes to SOW, assesses the impact and negotiates proposed changes to determine modifications to the deliverables, resources, costs and schedules. Leads project execution to complete the work statement. Identifies performance metrics. Plans, identifies, and coordinates resources required over the life of the project or program. Defines plans for risk mitigation and opportunity. Compares actual results to baseline plan to assess project performance, efficiencies, productivity and lessons learned. Works under minimal direction. Assigns responsibility for activities to team members and ensures technical correctness and consistency of products and services.

**Position Responsibilities:**

+ Develop Statements of Work, Budgetary inputs, and Proposals

+ Coordinate execution with multi-disciplinary teams

+ Manage Line of Balance for Deliveries

+ Manage Program Execution and Quality Plans

+ Manage appropriate aspects of critical supplier and partner performance to ensure compliance to requirements

+ Perform Risk Management

+ Update project status, metrics, and plans

+ Work under minimal direction

**This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Mesa, AZ.**

**This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)**

**Special Program Access or other Government Access Requirements Post Start are mandatory for this position.**

**Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):**

+ Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

+ 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience

+ 3 or more years of experience with engineering project planning

**Typical Education/Experience:**

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard **.**

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $114,750 - $155,250
