**What you’ll do…**

* Lead the definition, analysis, and management of complex system-level requirements, ensuring clarity, completeness, traceability, and testability from concept through validation.

* Drive the architectural design and review of automotive embedded systems, ensuring alignment with functional safety (ISO 26262), performance, and quality objectives.

* Lead early defect detection and prevention strategies by embedding robust requirements engineering and system architecture principles across software and systems development.

* Define and implement advanced methods for requirements management, system architecture design, and process improvement to enhance overall software and system quality.

* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure robust system verification and validation processes

* Conduct quality reviews and participate in engineering joint reviews (including architectural and requirements reviews) to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.

* Coach and train engineering teams on quality best practices, including ISO 26262 (Functional Safety) and software quality standards.

* Analyze warranty, field, and test data to identify systemic quality issues and drive corrective actions.

* Partner with suppliers and internal teams to enhance software quality, focusing on infotainment, connected gateways, and telematics.

* Support embedded software development teams in improving processes for reliability, maintainability, and compliance.

* Contribute to process development and improvement within the quality organization to align with industry standards and best practices, **specifically for requirements engineering and systems design.

* Effectively communicate complex technical issues, to both engineering teams and executive leadership.

**You’ll have…**

+ Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related degree/technical field

+ 15+ years of progressive engineering experience in the automotive industry, with demonstrated hands-on expertise in advanced requirements management methodologies and defining complex system architectures.

+ Proven mastery of various requirements elicitation, analysis, and validation techniques, and experience with industry-standard requirements management tools.

+ Extensive experience in designing, documenting, and reviewing system architectures for embedded automotive software and hardware.

+ Strong focus on quality, warranty analysis, or verification & validation.

+ Proven expertise in early defect detection and prevention methodologies.

+ Experience in ISO 26262 Functional Safety implementation and assessments.

+ Knowledge of embedded software development processes.

+ Excellent communication, coaching, and training skills to drive cultural and technical improvements.

+ Experience working with infotainment, connected gateways, or telematics is highly desired.

+ Experience in embedded software testing, software integration, or software development.

+ Knowledge of ASPICE and software process assessments.

+ Familiarity with DevOps and continuous integration strategies for automotive software.

This position is a range of salary grades 7-8.
