• This position is posted as Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach, which is a working title. The NAU system title for this position is Assistant Coach, Intermediate - Strength & Conditioning.
• Driving a vehicle on behalf of the university is anticipated to be a regular part of this position. Arizona Administrative Code Fleet Safety Policy requires all employees who drive on university business become authorized by submitting Driver's license information for driving record monitoring, and completion of training appropriate to the level of driving performed. The law applies to all faculty, staff, and students who drive personal or university-owned motorized vehicles for any business purpose. About the Department/College
The Northern Arizona University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics sponsors 15 men's and women's NCAA Division-I programs with more than 350 student-athlete participants. The university is a member of the Big Sky Conference for all sports with the exception of women's swimming and diving, which competes in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF).
About the Position
Provides assistance in developing and administering the strength and conditioning program for women's basketball and women's soccer programs while operating under NCAA Operating Bylaws.
Responsibilities Include
80% - Coaching
• Supervise, develop, and administer the strength and conditioning program for women's basketball and women's soccer student athletes.
• Work closely with the Athletic Training Program and the department medical staff in planning and implementing rehab programs for student-athletes.
• Maintain a safe and effective weight room with a focus on the health and welfare of the student-athlete.
• Administer the program in compliance with all University and NCAA rules and fulfill all duties assigned by the Director of Olympic Sports Strength & Conditioning Coach.
10% - Supervision
• Supervise strength and conditioning interns.
• Provide supervision of the weight room and conditioning areas to provide the highest possible success for the student athletes.
• Supervise/mentor assigned strength graduate assistant.
5% - Recruitment
• Recruit/hire strength and conditioning interns to support all teams.
• Maintain relationship with NAU CHHS department.
• Develop strength and conditioning internship curriculum.
5% - Other
• Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in exercise science or relevant field.
• 1 years of relevant experience.
• A CSCS or SCCC Certification
• CPR and first aid Certified.
• Must possess current AZ Driver's License.
*A combination of related education, experience, and training may be used as an equivalent to the above Minimum Qualifications.
Preferred Qualifications
• Master's Degree in Exercise Science or related field preferred.
• Greater than 2 years' experience as a collegiate Strength and Conditioning coach.
• Experience with women's soccer and women's basketball.
• FMS Certification.
• Nutritional Education.

Compensation
Salary range begins at $38,628. Annual salary commensurate with candidate's qualifications and related experience.

Each year Northern Arizona University releases an https://in.nau.edu/police-department/annual-security-and-fire-safety-reports/. The report is a result of a federal law known as the Clery Act. The report includes Clery reportable crime statistics for the three most recent completed calendar years and discloses procedures, practices and programs NAU uses to keep students and employees safe including how to report crimes or other emergencies occurring on campus.
