Opened in 1977, Torrington Community Hospital is a critical access hospital that provides excellent medical care to residents in southeast Wyoming and bordering Nebraska communities. **This is a Per-Diem role and will help to cover breaks, vacation time, and high volume times.**

Community Hospital in Torrington, Wyo. is a 25-bed critical access hospital. We take pride in providing thoughtful medical care to residents in southeast Wyoming and bordering Nebraska communities, and we live our commitment to these communities in many ways. POSITION SUMMARY

This position assists in the care of a group of children at a singular site. This position assists with the planning and implementation of a development/educational program for a program or child care center according to established parameters.

CORE FUNCTIONS

1. Assists senior staff with planning and implementation of the development/educational curriculum, lesson plans and programs in the individual classroom/playroom to ensure a well run, purposeful program that meets departmental goals and is responsive to participant needs.

2. Assists with the promotion and maintenance of a healthy learning environment that minimizes potential and actual injury. Cleans and maintains toys and materials. Demonstrates health and safety practices.

3. Assists with planning and leading creative activities that promote physical, intellectual, social and emotional competence of the enrolled children. Participates in the social development of young children.

4. Participates in other various activities which may consist of record keeping, maintaining inventories and ordering or reporting needed resources. Assists children and parents as necessary.

5. This position works under regular supervision from senior staff. This position may have frequent interaction with employees/physicians and their family members, patients/residents, visitors, community agencies and vendors.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must have a high school diploma or its equivalent.

Must be at least 18 years of age. The position also requires skills and abilities typically gained through one year of experience in working with children. Must comply with applicable registration regulations and health requirements for assignment. Must be able to communicate effectively in both oral and written formats. Must demonstrate responsibility, flexibility and sensitivity to children.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience working with young children from birth to age five in classroom setting. An Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Early Childhood Special Education that encompass the following: child development and learning of children birth through kindergarten; family and community relationships; observing, documenting and assessing young children; teaching and learning; and professional practices and development, including relevant field-based experience, from an accredited institution.

Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
