• This position is posted as Director of Men's Basketball Operations, which is a working title. The NAU system title for this position is Athletic Operations Coordinator, Senior.
• Driving a vehicle on behalf of the university is anticipated to be a regular part of this position. Arizona Administrative Code Fleet Safety Policy requires all employees who drive on university business become authorized by submitting Driver's license information for driving record monitoring, and completion of training appropriate to the level of driving performed. The law applies to all faculty, staff, and students who drive personal or university-owned motorized vehicles for any business purpose. About the Department/College
The Northern Arizona University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics sponsors 15 men's and women's NCAA Division-I programs with more than 350 student-athlete participants. The university is a member of the Big Sky Conference for all sports with the exception of women's swimming and diving, which competes in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF).
About the Position
The Director of Men's Basketball Operations plays a vital leadership role in supporting the day-to-day and strategic functions of the Men's Basketball program. Serving as the primary liaison between the team and key internal departments-including athletics administration, equipment, sports information, and athletic training-this role ensures smooth communication and operational efficiency across all areas of the program. The coordinator also acts as the main point of contact for professional scouts.
Key responsibilities include managing team travel logistics, overseeing the program's operating budget, and assisting in the execution of game contracts. The role coordinates both the team's master calendar and the Head Coach's external engagements, while also supporting public relations, community events, and donor outreach in collaboration with marketing and ticketing offices.
Responsibilities Include
40% - Team Liaison and Representative
• Serves as the main liaison for staff of the men's basketball program, including athletics administration, equipment, sports information, athletic training, etc.
• Serves as the main liaison to professional scouts.
20% - Administrative Duties and Travel Arrangements
• Coordinates travel arrangements for away games; prepares purchasing logs, and maintains paperwork.
• Oversees team's annual operating budget; Provide weekly reports to head coach and deputy athletic director.
• Assists head coach in execution of game contracts for home, away and neutral events.
20% - Team Coordinator
• Coordinates the annual calendar for the Men's Basketball program.
• Coordinates the head coach's external calendar for functions on-campus, in the community, speaking engagements, fundraising activities, etc.
• Represents men's basketball and head coach at various campus and community meetings and events.
• Collaborates with marketing and ticket office to grow and engage fan base.
• Engages donors, recruits, alumni, and player parents through exceptional game day experience, newsletters, and email communication.
15% - Coaching Staff Support
• Provides support to the head coach and other coaching staff in all aspects of on-court coaching, player development, academic success, recruiting, film study, practice organization, position meetings, scouting opponents, and other areas deemed necessary.
• Ensures program compliance with all applicable university, state, federal, or other laws, rules, regulations, and guidelines.
5% - Other
• Other duties as assigned to move forward the institution and department's goals and initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
• 3 years of relevant experience.
*A combination of related education, experience, and training may be used as an equivalent to the above Minimum Qualifications.

Compensation
Salary range begins at $44,422. Annual salary commensurate with candidate's qualifications and related experience.

You may also be required to complete a fingerprint background check.
