    Job Description

    The Technical Instructional Designer supports the technical implementation and management of Canvas courses within the College of Nursing. This role focuses on the technical aspects of course design, including facilitating LTI integrations, managing Canvas blueprint courses, and collaborating with Canvas IT staff. The position serves as a technical liaison, translating academic business needs into technical requirements, ensuring seamless integration of third-party educational technologies, and supporting course quality assurance (QA) processes for the College of Nursing.

    Canvas Technical Design - 40%

    • Manage technical configurations within Canvas, including LTI integrations and blueprint course management.
    • Collaborate with faculty to ensure technical alignment with academic goals.

    Technical Support and Troubleshooting - 25%

    • Act as the College's representative to NAU Canvas IT for technical issue resolution.
    • Provide Tier 2 technical support and escalate issues as necessary.

    Vendor Collaboration and Software Integration - 20%

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in educational technology, information systems, curriculum design, or a related field.

    The Design and Technical Sales Engineer contributes to the success of The Zippertubing Co. by providing innovative solutions to our customers. This position will require knowledge of materials, creation of 3D models for products via CAD (SolidWorks preferred), and associated print drawings, tooling design, and documentation for customer and production use.

    Major Tasks, Accountabilities, and Key Responsibilities:

    Interface with customers to identify requirements and translate them into custom solutions.
    Provide technical support and effectively communicate technical information to our customers.
    Work with sales and marketing teams to create a clear understanding of our engineered solutions so they can best market and sell our products.
    Develop product tooling, fixtures, jigs, and manufacturing efficiency aids.
    Maintain project completion status for all active projects.

    Qualifications/Requirements

    BS in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university is required.
    3+ years’ experience in engineering design or technical sales.

    While performing the duties of this job, the DTE will perform most of the work in a multi-occupied office environment, with face-to-face customer interactions, and some work is performed on the production floor, near vibrating loud equipment. At times the employee may be exposed to airborne particulates, moving mechanical parts, and vibrations on the production floor. The noise level can be loud at times.

    This role is partially sedentary; however, some filing is required.
